[raw]
made by Abeyance for LD 43 (COMPO)

Welcome to the Game! To move: Use the WASD keys To shoot: Use the arrow keys To mine: Hold shift, and use the arrow keys. Find the randomly placed generator. With enough gems (5), you can create a follower. Otherwise, just kill the baby enemies for a random chance of one spawning. If your health gets low, in the middle of the game is a well, hold E at any time to have your followers move towards it, and jump in. You will regain some of the health that they had remaining. Press ENTER to start the game, thanks for playing! You can press F11 to go into fullscreen mode as well.

It's a pretty cool concept. I like your take on the "Sacrifice is necessary" theme. The only issue is that this game has a lot of glitches. The well didn't work, in fact, it made me stuck in place and I kept getting hit by the boss thing. And you say "With enough gems." How many gems? No matter how many I had, it didn't seem to work at all.

This is a nice little clicker-type game, and I enjoyed some of the bullethell aspects that the big enemies introduced. Wasn't totally sure how this fit into the theme, and the generator didn't seem to do anything -- also, I got several pretty bad framerate drops on a GTX 970M -- not sure what might have been causing that. Overall congrats for submitting something finished!

Hey guys, (@mightymaster99 and @numeralien) thanks for the feedback. It means a lot :) As for the generator, it should only require 5 gems where you can then stand next to it and press space. It does take a while for the follower to spawn, however it is pretty obvious when it is working. It may have been something to do with what I changed last minute. I never knew about the well though, thanks for the heads up! I'm running and testing on a pretty crappy computer right now, sorry to hear about that though. Some optimization is definitely due if I'm to continue in the future.
