Little Basement by Firefluid

[raw]
made by Firefluid for LD 41 (JAM)

This is a game made during the 41th ludum dare gamejam. We, a team consisting of two young developers (Thestroyer & Firefluid), started 24 hours late into the gamejam. It was hard to come up with an idea with the theme being "Combine 2 Incompatible Genres". This is the game we came up with. http://thestroyer.atwebpages.com/games/little_basement

CONTROLS: W/Up: JUMP A/left+D/right: move left/right E/enter/spacebar: Open doors ESC: Back F11: toggle fullscreen

A short game that has a nice atmosphere. There isn't much to the gameplay yet, but it could be very interesting with some more work (I know how harsh the time limit can be). Are the genres platformer and horror? The player character seems to be improperly layered or are we watching him through a semitransparent wall? It might not be intended, but it could become part of the story. Some of the texts should be positioned more conveniently so that you can read them better. Lastly, in the credits it says twice "This game was made by". Oh, and thanks for the secret.

Nice graphic and audio work. The gameply though is quite empty. It would be nice to have at least some backstory narration, to give the player a feeling of sense, why is he running through so many empty levels. The great atmosphere just waits for it :)

I really enjoyed playing this game. I liked the soundtrack and the art-style was also cool (especially the font). The only thing that was lacking were maybe a few other mechanics but I enjoyed the game and also the "There is nothing here"-part. Really good job guys ;)

Nice little platforming game. I like the atmosphere/mood of the game. There are even secrets! It's pretty weak in terms of matching the theme though. Regardless, a good entry!

Nice and moody entry. I like your graphic style!
The levels are a little bit empty but i guess this was on purpose.
When falling down, the camera follows a little to slow. Also I couldn´t see the link to the theme.
Beside of that, a round game with good controls, many levels, atmospheric music and sound FX.

The atmosphere of this game is really nice but I would have loved to have something more to do than just casually traversing the environments.

I Really liked the sounds of your game, very atmospheric and off putting, you are always on the edge. It would be a fantastic game with some labirynth puzzles or something else to find. I would love to see a full game of it! Great job nevertheless.

Visuals and sounds are nice, but the game play gets repetitive pretty quickly. I played it to the end expecting something unexpected only find the end screen.

The mood, music and graphics is really good. The gameplay is okay, but it could have use some more content. Overall a fine LD game. Well done.

This is great fun. The graphics and the music set the right atmosphere right from the start and it looks and sounds great :)
One thing i hate is W for jump, why not Space :)

But excellent job, also the music kinda reminds me of Medievil on PS1 :)

If you can check out my unpolished title and rate I would appreciate it very much :)
