Man, what can I say, this was an amazing experience. The art and music just complimented the whole journey. The unique "square" mechanic was something I have never seen before, and the level design was great because it used this ability and others together for some complex puzzles. However, I didn't get to see it all to the end because of the difficulty. The only thing that hurt the experience were a few bugs where the abilities got stuck where I just died. I'm surprised this doesn't have any other feedback because it deserves it.

You made this in 72hs?? I almost can not believe it. Amazing sounds and graphics and really fun mechanics, never seen that square teleportation mechanic before. You made this game with Construct 2 by any chance? One complain i have is that flying to the last checkpoint takes a lot of time i wish to retry inmediatly, it being so slow makes failing frustrating to me =S

Made it to this level http://prntscr.com/f2wn03

Great game! Original game mechanics and level design make this game pretty enjoyable. I found color scheme a bit dark in general, I had to increase bright of my monitor to see the platforms. I played the web version and it works slow, it would be more enjoyable being smoother. But overall this is a solid entry.

Incredible and amazing, a really beautiful game. All their elements are in perfect harmony. i love especially his art and music. The square teleport surprised me and this little world links beauty and gameplay. Well done.
Congratulations, you have a finished game.

@sararycow many thanks! browser version could work slow on laptops, I got no time for optimization, but the problem will be fix in future - the deal is in videoadapters

Wow... that's not a ludum game lol. That's a complete one! Loved the art style, the sound and the mood. But... is there really 80 powers in the game? I made it to the end with just 73 and I don't remember skipping any. lol

Uau... it's amazing you have made this game in 72 hours. The core mechanics fits very well and the puzzles you did with that skills are very fun to play. Seriosly, it's amazing you could do that amazing level desing in that short of time.

Music go with you along all the game.

I'm very amazed with this game. You deserve to stay at the top 50 game of this ludum.

Great work!

really interesting game. One thing that would have helped.. the 'Actors' and background imagery blended so well, the spikes weren't clearly spikes and I almost got stuck at the first mushroom.. was just about to give up and accidentally jumped on it.

Other then that the atmosphere and game play was quite enjoyable.

Pretty cool little game. I suggest in the future to modify the placement of platforms or improve the controls a bit.

Double jumping with the platforms (that first screen where you learn it) was ok, but the last little bit was difficult to get the character over. I hit the wall too soon and using the double-jump didn't push me up and over the ledge when it looked like it could've.

Another case was with the teleportation learning part. That last section with the placement of the platforms was just too hard.

Another suggestion would be to change those red spikes/flowers to being thorns or something. Walked right into them the first time because they didn't look dangerous.

Good job! :)

This is incredibly impressive for a 72 hour project with only one person. There's a _lot_ of mechanics and ideas in here, and, all of them are interesting.

That said, I do have a few problems with the implementation of those ideas, mostly in terms of controls. I was using the keyboard (can't find my gamepad, not sure it would have worked on the web version anyway), for what that's worth. There were a few times where there seemed to be significant input lag, or just dropped inputs. I also found myself using the red orbs when I didn't mean to a _ton_ of the time. In fact, often the hardest parts of using the red orbs was in getting to where you wanted to go without triggering them by accident during normal jumps. That being the case, I'd almost suggest trying something that's _usually_ a terrible idea, and have the second jump mapped to a different button than the first (maybe optionally?).

Anyway, all that said this is really cool, and I hope to come back (maybe on a Windows machine with a gamepad) and try it again.

Very solid entry, and I liked it (even though I often hate pixel-art games), which is definitely a plus. It is well polished and one of the most complete games on LD, especially as it is done by one person.

I didn't really have problems with controls, but died way too often (although to be said, I really suck at jumping in 2D games - so I should just simply "git gud" instead of 'crying' here).

Graphics and style fits the game, could it be improved? Yes, definitely... does it need to be improved? Not really, I had enough fun this way too. The sounds fit the game well, as well as music. I can't really say anything against the game itself.

Good job, congratulations on making the game and thanks for making it!

Wow... that was an incredible game. Amazing concept and idea. I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. I can't really think of anything to change other than if you could speed up the time it takes to teleport back to a save if you die a lot. The speed was okay at first, but after repeated deaths at certain points it was a tiny bit annoying. It may give players time to think what they did wrong, so it could also be a good thing. Great job! Thank you for making this. :D

YESSSSSSSS this is just the sort of entry I was hoping for. Everything about this is just so well done and so charming. I can't imagine the 72 hours of slaving away required to make this masterpiece. It reminds me of a really good old freeware game. So much love put into such a short amount of time.

There is a pretty substantial bug where orbs will spawn where you died instead of reapearing where they're supposed to which could lead to some soft locks. I'd classify that as a game breaking bug so if you could fix that then this game would be perfect. The non-completionist ending is also a bit of a tease.

Favorite game so far.

Just... WOW! This game is so beautiful in music, art, puzzles. That square portal core mechanic was so innovative. The amount of work this must have taken to make in 72 hours, I can't even imagine. Honestly if this game was on Steam, I would buy it right now. The way you tied everything together to create such a charming and interesting world is beyond me. I thoroughly enjoyed this game, this is the 3rd ludum dare I have participated in and this without a doubt is my favorite ludum dare game I have ever played. Thank you for the experience, it was challenging at times but very fun. I would love to see a part 2 and learn maybe more about the little fungi universe, who are those red guys, why do they want to kill me, where did Small God go to? Amazing work!

Very pretty game. Gave me that Trine feeling. You're definitely onto something. It's actually quite polished and if you decided to further development, this could be a great experience. I like the screen size of the game as well. My framerate felt like it was between 20-25fps but it could be my browser. Overall great game!

No way you made this 72hrs. I mean, you obviously did it, which blew my mind! I have to say, this is definitely my favorite game I have played so far in this LD 38. The music, and the art fit so well with each other; It really gave me the feel of this ominous yet, beautiful small world. With the addition of the portal ability, while it is simple, I think it is a really creative and effective way to make the game much more fun. My only complaint for the game would be the delay time for the respawn. I think you should lower the delay time a bit, since it really frustrated to wait between each death. Overall, I think you did an amazing job here!

//////Pros///////

I love how fluid learning how to use the different power ups was - I was an expert in seconds! :grin:

I absolutely adore the sound effects and music, really fits in with the atmosphere with the game (Mushroom jumping and death sounds were my favourite) :smile:

Completing levels felt rewarding and it kept me engaged! :open_mouth:

Covered the need for a reset button w/ spike pits in areas where the player gets stuck (GJ!)

//////Cons///////

Level design could have been less linear, instead of just left to right. Up or Down would have been nice

Music loop had a long delay (5+ Seconds) at the end of it, which broke my immersion imo

Not enough save points / annoying spike placement (Annoying to have to redo my mushrooms again and again)

//////Verdict///////

Amazingly polished game for a 72 hour jam, great job! :smiley:

The graphics and audio gives this game a very mysterious and fairy tale like atmosphere. The teleporting pictureframe is an interesting mechanic.

Unfortunately the game lagged a lot on this computer (macOS + Firefox). Due to this I had to stop once the platforming got more demanding.
