Keep it up! =OD>-]
ps.. can't wait to see your LD38 postmortem documentary! Love them!
The puzzle was fun to figure out, but the slow walking speed on smaller sizes did get a little annoying, and the game was a bit short. The mouse sensitivity was also very high for me.
Overall great entry, just wish it was longer :)
(Also I agree with @avon that the sensitivity is very high)
@avon @mde I just added a link to version 1.01 which introduces a simple way to adjust mouse sensitivity and has some minor performance and visual improvements, gameplay (and glitches) are untouched ;)
Thankfully I have an adjustable mouse and was able to turn down the sensitivity to play without too many problems, though I was very confused as to what it was I was trying to achieve at first. I soon figured out the growing and shrinking and managed to find the key, though I somehow managed to lose it by dropping it through one of the portals in an attempt to shrink it down and was forced to restart the game.
The art and music really reminds of the old Titanic point and click adventure game for PC, it has the same atmosphere. The surreal feeling of scale changing was also very reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland, I half expected to see a white rabbit in there somewhere.
I found this from following your youtube channel which I discovered a few days before the jam started while looking for inspiration and helpful advice from those who had done this before. I'm really looking forward to seeing your documentary postmortem on how you made this.
The game idea is neat but some aspects are as clearly communicated as could be. For example the difference in key size could be bigger, so it's easier to tell if it has the right size to fit in the lock.
I encountered a bug, where the key fell through the floor and I had to restart the game.
I'm looking forward to the documentary :)
Everything is tidy but odd. Gives you that "Layers of fear" feel but without the horror.
Buggy, but I expect great things from you. I'll follow you on other media!
Keep making games, you're doing great.
4/5
I left you a rating. Good luck!
EDIT
Just one thing: Give me a RUN key pleeeeeeaaase!!! :)
- game was simple and small as per the theme
- over all i enjoyed
I loved that moment when I knew what I had to do, and I was just executing on the solution, excited to see what would happen when I solved the puzzle. When I did, I felt very happy with my reward. I was pretty entertained by the ending, so I would definitely have rated this 5 stars in Humor, if that was an option.
This could be a great escape the room game if you added some more puzzles.
Only thing that needs adjustment is the speed when you get smaller.
If you ever make this a full game, consider making it third person, it would be a bit more difficult but seeing your character getting smaller and bigger would help with immersion.
Great work, keep it up!!!
