POST-LD CHANGES AND NOTES: - Fixed balance. It was nearly impossible to win before. Enemies was too hard, and punches too weak. - Med kits are bigger now and easier to find. - Med kits added in two missed levels. - Sound levels and music are fixed now. Before music was too loud and sliders was not working correctly. - Now you cannot win the game without defeating all opponents.

TO-DO: - Boss is not animated. WHY, UNIVERSE, WHY???

Cool! I love the art, and the game plays well, but I guess I'm just not very good! I died lots of times! Overll, great job!

The controls felt weird to me, but I love the game overall! Great concept and great execution.

有趣的结合,但是按空格就返回主界面实在让我很难受

Really liked the game, sometimes the sums with correct answers didn't do anything. The art style was really nice aswell! :)

Nice, easy to catch the concept, a lil hard to play cause you die to fast ( In my opinion ).
Great work and game!

Absolutly love the humor of your game, the concept is great and fits perfectly in the theme! At first I was really bad at it, dying every time at the first opponent but then I understood Norman was more of an endurant type, fall back en get in the fight rince and repeat (at least it's the technique that worked for me). From a graphical standpoint it's cool but I guess you could of have improved a bit the environement to make it more eye poping. Maybe a bit short, though the combat on itself feels really nice. Strange thing the boss was almost as if it were unbeatable, its lifebar didn't went down an inch, so at some point I rushed in the back of the room and then the game ended. The thing with the brain poping out of norman's head, the pens on his shirt's pocked and all, nice touches!

Really cool entry! I like everything about Nerd's Revenge other than the difficulty level (though I suppose I should just 'git gud':)). The game is innovative, it follows the theme, it has a cohesive art style and it's of course very funny. Good job!

Really dug the conceit of the game, but the difficulty really turned me off from entirely enjoying it. It's a bit unfair that the math meter doesn't refill after solving a problem. Also the meter moves extremely quickly. I found myself fumbling with the keys a lot. But overall a fun entry! Loved your art style :D

You guys have a cool unique idea. One of the most unique ones in this LD. The punches and kicks are satisfying + love the premise.

I am not a mathematician, but I tend to only kick/punch once a easy equation comes up. To encourage combat, I suggest to increase the cooldown meter + this'll encourage ppl like me to take on the bigger equations. There are a few bugs here and there like the nerd falling off the basketball court + some AI bugs.

Still fun AF though!!

This game is really cool, although I was not really good playing it, things happen too fast for me :)

I enjoyed the introducing scene and the graphics are great!
Testing it under linux I had some issue (no mouse pointer in the title screen)

Great job however, I had a lot of fun!

My game mixed math and fight in different way, you can try it if you want: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/education-to-survive

Unique idea but i'm terrible at this game (let's just say math ain't my thing......) So I will prefer not to say anything about it besides that the intro video was a bit 2 fast and the game-play is also fast (at least for me, maybe adding different difficulty of speed would be a nice addition)

Very cool entry indeed! Love the idea. The themes are really incompatible but still awesome together.
Music and graphics are great, but I guess that you opted out from the audio category since you didn't create that yourself.
A cool addition would be to be able to store actions somehow with some more difficult questions.
Thanks!

This game is interesting.

I'm not very good at it, just because I'm not the type of guy that come up with fast responses, agility is not my strongest skill, and when the game introduces multiplication and substraction it turns a little difficult for me.

Nevertheless, there are some interesting features here, the voxel graphics are great and the controls felt fluid and very well implemented. The UI was very good too and the audio was fine, not too great, but enough to do the job on the game.

Congrats on this entry, you did a great job!

There should be a way to skip the intro cause i died a lot.

Nice idea! It could use some balancing for LD, as especially early on, as there is no room for mistakes or slow responses. The health kits were a little too scarce for the amount of damage you inevitably take. That being said, the graphics, music, and premise of the game were great! Keep it up!

After I understood what to do it was really fun playing. There are some features, that seem a little unnecessarily complicated. I don't get, why there are two equation options to solve. There is to much going on and no time to think about which option one wants and there is no reward in choosing one over the other. I would just get rid of one and get a simpler straight forward gameplay.
The other feature is the rage bar. Again there was not really a time to think about, what to do with it. More time, and more complicated equations would be great. Also there should be a small penalty when leaving an equation unsolved.

Just some thoughts of mine. Great entry!

Cool game! Wish there was a way to avoid taking damage as stepping back resets the math equation. Feel like after some adjustments this could be even better game at teaching and making you better and math. Great job! :)

Nerdy Norman is great and I think the concept is also good if it would be not so hard.
Maybe it would be better if only one math equation is shown because two makes it for the player too difficult. At first you have to decide which you choose and than you have to find the right number on your numpad. The time of the shown equation could be maybe a bit slower? I read that you have fixed the balanced but it is currently too hard for me. Some people are slow and some are fast.
By the way, the graphic style is wonderful and I liked especially the short intro with the bully and Norman. In combination with the sounds it reminds me of these old SNES games ... but now in 3D! :D
