Short Description

“Storage Overflow” is a puzzle/simulator game where you manage a small warehouse. You have to deliver packages as fast as possible in order to overcome the amount of stocking-up packages and not run out of space.

Gameplay

In this game, you play as a warehouse keeper. Trucks will start delivering packages from the left side to your warehouse, once the game starts. You need to store the packages in your warehouse so you have quick access to them when needed. After some time, trucks will start coming from the right side with delivery requests. You have to fill them with the required packages within the time limit. Your goal is to deliver packages as fast as possible in order to not run out of space from shelving packages filling up your warehouse. For successful deliveries, you will receive money and reputation. Money can be spent for upgrades on the workbench inside your warehouse, including extending the storage space of the warehouse. You lose if your reputation stays too low for too long. Hence, always try to deliver those packages on time.

Good game. The progression through waves is nice, Graphics aren't too bad if I don't say so myself, and fair difficult. Nice job!

This was a lot of fun. I found my self using the post tube packages to push a bunch of packages into a truck at once. Throwing them was a lot of fun as well. Also.. were those packaged bodies that I just "smuggled" into a box truck? :scream:

This a fun game! Seems balanced from what i played with it. The graphics also mesh well with each other. Didn't seem too hectic, but i can imagine it would be later in the game!

Fantastic game that fully incorporates the theme into its gameplay. You really do feel like you're running out of space, each warehouse upgrade offering only a temporary reprieve. Brilliant stuff.

Did you consider having the display for the required goods closer to the outgoing trucks? It would reduce the likelihood of incorrectly loading a truck due to misreading the requirements. Having to look across the screen frequently certainly adds to the frantic pace of the game, but removing this slight inconvenience would allow for greater focus on the core gameplay mechanic, which is incredibly engaging.

I couldn't complete a delivery. Those drivers were pissed and were quick to fire me, I don't blame them.
I think the game was well executed and played smooth, good job!

Really fun game!
Love all the different shapes. Love your take on the theme. Finding a way to manage all the components was really fun. At first I didn't realize how useful throwing was but once I found the throw I realized it was a major part of the game.

Game-breaking bug: it's impossible to load certain items onto the trucks because the player can't reach far enough to drop them onto the truck bed.

You are the forklift, I like the LD easter egg ;)

@ryusui You can use the right mouse button to throw items rather than the left mouse button to just place them. You can load packages more easily that way.

@andreas-roschal Oof. Didn't realize. Shoulda RTFM'd a bit harder on my end. ^_^;

@sauski Having the displays somewhere close to the according trucks and still being always visible as part of the UI would definitely be desirable. However, for the jam we decided to just put them on the upper right as this was the simplest and fastest solution where time was limited. But you are right. We should probably add this to our "What we would have done/changed if there was more time" list above.

The best game I have played today. The graphics are fantastic, the soundeffects are great and the gameplay is simply fun.
Very well implemented, didn't see any bugs.
It does not get boring and is well paced.
I also like the style of the menu and how you present the game in general.

Nice game but you could improve on the movement it feels a bit slow. Nevertheless I liked the game (first game I gave 4 stars in humor due to the shape of some packets)

I enjoyed this take on the warehouse theme; some of those packages though! Haha! I wonder who is shipping humans? :D

All around solid work. Fits the theme well, easily understandable gameflow, and responsive controls. I expected the thin objects would've been difficult to grab but wasn't the case at all.

I wish the movement was a bit faster. That being said this is really solid and polished work! Missing opportunities with the trucks feels hilariously disapointing. Really great take on the theme =)

Watching the warehouse descend into chaos as your little dude spins aimlessly to get to the box in the far corner is an awesome feeling, great use of the theme!

I played for quite a while. This game is oddly satisfying and therapeutic. I lied to myself at first pretending that I could keep things organized, but that fell apart immediately. Only thing I wish this game had was some goals to shoot for. Otherwise, the art, music, and mechanics all payed together very well.

Pros:
- Really creative, love the gameplay. One thing I especially found great was when you needed a package that was deep in the mess and had to fight your way through the pile of crap to get to it.
- I thought the ability to upgrade things added an extra layer to the game.
___
Cons:
- Not sure if this was on my end or if it was the game, but when there were a lot of boxes colliding, it would break the music.
- I thought the sound design and music was good, but would have liked if the music track was maybe 10 seconds longer before repeating. (I understand the time constraints though).

Loved the game, keep it up! Thank you for sharing :)

Really fun game with physics, i think it could be even simpler, you could just throw away the items you receive. Very cool !

It's a fun game and a great idea! It's a shame that some bugs hassle the experience. (I get stuck in the right side of the screen)

Love your version of the warehouse management game. The execution is pretty good. I especially enjoy the art and the music. Later on in the game it is kind of hard to catch up with the slow movement though (maybe that's the point) and it is hard for me to differentiate the different boxes, maybe a bit more differentiating factor other than color would be great (e.g. different decoration etc.)

Overall great game I quite enjoyed it.

Cool. I enjoyed it a lot. after it gets so messy, the sound stops but was not a big deal.
I would have liked if there was more useful upgrades cuz I think all we need is space, the shoes were not that handy cuz after a while you can barely walk.
Also, it got hard so fast... It was so satisfying at the start. to organize your stuff like putting red ones in one corner and so on.

@pnghasemi Yes, you are absolutely right about what you said. Unfortunately balancing a game is usually one of the most time-consuming tasks and we couldn't invest as much time into this as we would have liked to. Hence, the game turned out a bit more hectic than planned and becomes too messy too fast. Organizing and sorting packages was a planned game element but it got kind of suppressed in the end result because of the fast-growing package chaos. … Well, at least that way it satisfies the theme pretty well. :)

Very special gameplay! The idea is very suitable for this theme. I feel like I was an employee in some express-deliver warehouse. The warehouse is so busy! Great game!

This was great!, very impressive responsiveness, used the theme well. I liked! I think trucks took a bit long to show up, but perhaps that was to cause the filling of room. And yeah, some of the boxes are certainly questionable!

Good going!

Really an enjoyable game!!! Physics feels pretty good, it give a good feeling of packages combining with sound effect. I only wish it to be easier so I can upgrade shoes and throw easily, rather than finding that upgrade the warehouse is my only choice(running out of space!!!). Seems a good strategy is to put as much packages as possible and pay attention to make the reputation just positive.
