The long-awaited sequel to my last LD entry!

This was actually supposed to be a proper sorta clone but I messed up day 1 and ended up not having enough time to implement more than the catching part, so, Catchey 2!

You catch things!

Best played with Knuckles, but will work with any SteamVR compatible headset after you set bindings for it, the vive wands are already set.

You'll just need to set rotation buttons, Walking, Grabbing and "Arm Catch Cube" if you're not on Vive wands or Knuckles controllers.

Default bindings are left touchpad/joystick controls locomotion, right touchpad does rotation (through DPAD option in the bindings), grip button does the "Arm Catch Cube" which activates/deactivates the catch cubes (needed for actually catching things) and grabbing is just trigger.

On knuckles Grabbing does nothing since it's powered by the skeleton API! :D

Hope it's playable because I'm too tired to troubleshoot right now.

I can't play in VR, but it looks cool. Hope you make 2 versions like VR and normal ^^

Nice to see a VR game. Once I got into the swing of catching it was fun, although it didn't feel very balanced. It seemed to reward you more for catching bigger things even though they're a bigger target and I'm not sure the grip mechanic was necessary, it got in the way a bit. Also quite often I'd be rewarded with catch cubes but they wouldn't appear in my inventory. I liked the general feel and it was good use of the VR controllers

I cant play VR too but take my respect to you guys. I was working on VR and it's not so easy to make something for the short period. Well done!

I DO have VR but I can't get this to work on Oculus. I can look around the world in VR but the controllers are not recognised. Looks lovely though :) keep up the good work.

You make it quite hard to find you LD page from itch.io. You should add a backlink if you actually want ratings :smiley_cat:

You're right! I forgot to fill out the LD link on itch @saoi-games thanks :)

@designernap it uses the new SteamVR input rebinding, try going into the steamVR overlay in VR, bottom right settings, lowest option should be "Controller binding", there should be a selectable binding there somewhere for Rift...

Thank you for sharing your game with me. I played it on my stream tonight at https://www.twitch.tv/saoigames

I have rated your game, but all of my feedback was captured in the stream.

You can hear my comments in the archive at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/350109951

I was on a Vive but couldn't get the Grip or trigger to take any action. I am uncertain how to troubleshoot the game.

The white text was also very hard to read. It needed to have a gray/dark canvas background to make it easier to read the text with contrast to the buildings that were behind it.

Very cool idea, sadly I was unable to play/rate with my WMR because of a few issues. First, the throwing seemed to always throw into the ground even when I pointed up (maybe because WMR controller model is tilted by default?). Second, because of dead zoning on the thumbstick, I was always moving a little forward, which made me uncomfortable.

Hopefuslly you can find others to rate, very cool you can do all of this in just 72 hours.

Cool game! It took a while for me to realise that I needed to arm the cubes before I threw them (it also took me a while to figure out which button "grip" was, but that is probably just because I'm stupid). It would also be cool if you got an end-screen when you ran out of cubes that showed how well you played (number of creatures caught, average creature level etc.). Other than that, I really enjoyed this game!
