Overall a really solid game, especially considering the time constraints. I wasn't too sure I followed how the theme fit in. Maybe the other ships are catching up to you and you're "running out of space"?
:ok_hand:
Some thoughts: Maybe turn-based would work better? So you sorta have to strategize your next move, and after your move the enemy shoots you and your resources are depleted. Also, I wish the gems had the shifting down animations when you make a match!
All in all, I really liked the concept. It's a fun game overall! Good job!
I did run into a few bugs with the selection colour of pieces. I tried a few wrong moves and the pieces didn't unhighlight themselves. And then I noticed that I later got one of those staying-highlighted pieces in a match and another piece reappeared that was highlighted :P
Overall good job, the animations look cute in the simulation/top part.
- My hull and shields hit zero but I still won.
- When I won I hit "home" and the game froze.
Some animations in the dropping of tiles would be great. And the implementation of weapons and power also.
I enjoyed it. The music is cool and the graphics are clean.
Could use some more polish, but i think this is a great concept.
- Really clever idea combining bejeweled with a "typing game" style space chase.
- The music and visuals all looks pretty good
___
Cons:
- It was a little difficult to keep track of all of the different numbers on the screen while playing.
- Kinda buggy (difficult to deal with this issue in 3 days so pretty understandable)

Overall great concept; I thought it was really cool. Keep it up :)
Could use some sound effects when the shield gets damaged.
I played with pleasure
"Combine two incompatible genres" ;)

Linking the matching game to the various ship systems is an interesting choice. It adds an extra layer of strategy to a standard tile matching mechanic, but I wonder if some different tile images would help decipher things at a glance more easily. Like weapons could be a little missile, and shields could be a little semi-transparent circle, and speed could be green chevrons like >>>, etc... Then the player wouldn't need to refer back to the 'key' as often to make choices.
Also, I found myself focusing in so much on the matching, that I couldn't watch the action with the ships in the top section. Not sure how to address that though, I probably just need to git gud.
There's a lot of promise in this if it gets some further polish and enhancements. Great work!
If you don't bother take a look at our game when we focused on Graphics and visuals and see the results that we got:
