Zachary's Memory by namnam
Zachary is arrived at the end of his life and he remembers.
His memories mix. You are the memory's archiver, and you have to sort them.
You have to type on your keyboard to create a label and sort a memory. Some of them are linked and need to have the same label, but be carefull, by mixing two memories which are not linked, you will lost the last memories and those to come which are linked with it.

I'm a sucker for this kind of games and I loved playing this one so much. 5/8 at first try, 7/8 at the second (still misplaced that thing about the supermarket...) and I'm pretty sure I will come back one more time later to find out what I missed. The story is immersive, the background music is fitting.
I'm afraid it's a bit too long for a jam game, people rate quickly. And they miss out on this one. The ending is beautiful. You're a good story teller!
Good Luck🍀
And of course, this game is absolutely unique
Overall, really enjoyed the experience, and I hope more people get to enjoy it as well!
I found it quite interesting, to discover this persons live.
I think I got half of the memories (I didn't find it that easy to match the right memories^^). There are a few spelling mistakes, but that doesn't harm the story.
This stands out among the other ludum dare games.
I really loved this game! I don't usually play these games but this is definitely something amazing! It had a bittersweet atmosphere, it was easy to play, and the writing of the stories was absolutely superb. The art is quite amazing as well, the amount of detail is astonishing. A few spelling errors here and there in the text but definitely something you can fix quite easily.
Just a solid package, well done! You should be proud!! :sob:
The art and music compliment each other perfectly and really sets an ambient mood. This is one of the most beautiful interpretations of the theme I've seen so far.
Love it !
Aussi, desole pour mon francais.
I have a feeling it might be a bit long for most players because you certainly don't expect that much story for a Ludum Dare entry. I got hooked, though.
I guess I'm biased since a lot (like, way too much) of the stuff the game talks about is so close to my own experience, but the mechanic, the writing, the delivery, everything hit home with this game.
Congrats, you get every single star I can give you (I didn't review "Fun" though, since it doesn't apply I guess).
And last but not least, excellent job making an english AND a french version in a few days, c'est du super boulot.
A unique spin to the theme, with an awesome score in the background. 10/10
well done ! There is a little bug when you continuously write on the keyboard, it makes the story-telling disappear and there is no way to get it back.
That is a wonderful game, I think that's undeniable. Your writing is top notch, the graphics and sound fit perfectly with it, and on top of that you even went through the trouble of making both a French AND an English version during the jam.
I'm now stuck in this weird melancholic feeling between being very sad and somewhat happy. A kind of feeling only good (great?) storytellers are able to instil.
Put in a nuthsell: your game is probably the best one I played during this Ludum Dare. It is both a good and a bad thing. The good is obvious, the bad is because I kind of feel like this about you right now:

5/5
The music is great too. Well done !
It's really magical how such tiny games can touch people. Maybe because they are made with so much heart and express the own experience, the own struggle with life and they are maybe a mirror for the one who have created that. That may be the reason why we do and like art. To express ourselves and to find ourselves in that. I have a bit this feeling that I can see the human behind this story.
Anyway it's overall a great game. I have only one thing which I found improvable. I had the impression that the memories with Camilie are the most of memories which exist. But other thoughts seemed to have no obvious connection to others. So I had many slots wich I used only once. Maybe an indication how many connecting thoughts you got and how many more you need could be good.
Nice entrry. One of the most loving stories I have read so far at the LD. Keep doing such things!
By the way, we have had a really similar concept. We have also done a game that plays in the mind, but it's maybe more abstract I guess. :D
Loved this game! Interesting type mechanic and story! Was quite hard for me, sometimes wasn't quite sure about label, because didn't want to break anymore (after I broke first one). Maybe you shoul do it a little bit easier, like 3 attemps for each jar?
Anyway - perfect entry
I loved the "connected memories" mechanic in addition to the limited space, I found that the core idea was very original and powerful, not to mention that it fits the theme perfectly.
It would be interesting to see what each of us used for labels. I sucked at it, unfortunately, but it's pretty late now and I want to try it again tomorrow.
One of my favourite entries so far, congratulations!
PS: I spotted a few typos on the English version, that would be my only complain.
