Graphics are rad and the theme is on point. Gets a little hard to see

I love it, the game is on point with the theme. The pico-8 graphics are really nice, and those glitch effects are awesome. my only complains would be that the controls felt a bit slippery?(gliding) and collisions seemed a bit of. But overall it's great especially for 3 hours. The music is awesome by the way.

Nice game with cool graphics, the controls are a little hard, but other than that it's great.

Great Idea! That's really cool you made that glitch effect!
That's cool but when I collect around 90 coins, my eyes are feeling uncomfortable and I need to close the game :joy: :joy:

I _love_ the graphics and audio.. tiny 8x8 pixel sprites. Fantastic. Really difficult to play though, the character moves so fast and there's too much on the screen to see what's going on (obviously that's intentional) ... 3 hours, really?! incredible!

Nice, glad to see a PICO-8 entry in here. Got to 115 before it became pretty much impossible to see where I was going. Interesting use of the concept.

I like this game a lot, and it's seriously impressive if you only made it in 3 hours. Well done! :)

I especially like the way the visuals get crazier the more coins you collect, and the graphics/audio fit really well into the style of game.

I got up to 97/128.

Love those glitchy graphics. Get frustrating at certain pints. But fun!

Great looking game, interesting take on the theme.

The camera is really distracting, and the jump doesn't seem responsive enough though.

The movement feels very awkward, it's very hard to move around precisely.

Haha this is pure chaos!

Great take on the theme. It was a bit too hard sometimes though, especially with the controls being a bit unreliable.

I loved the simple but cute graphics.

My dude, creating this in 3 hours is really a sign of your experience.

I had a great time with this. At first I dug the pixels but thought it was a little boring, but the heavy distortion with additional coins made this really great.

The visuals, the audio and leveldesign really tie this up to a solid package.

Only grievance was that I sometimes glitched through solid blocks (?)

This is absolutely amazing in terms of graphics and audio. The glitches are just as surprising as they should be and they make playing the game absolutely ridiculous. My eyes hurt.

Nice graphics, good gameplay. I was wondering how people make games so good in 48 hours, bu you did this in 3 hours? Man, I feel bad with myself =/

This game is great, the feat to make this in such a short time!
One big detriment for me is that the jump feels JUST too underpowered. So many times I missed a jump with just a pixel to spare, and when on top of that the "glitches" make it impossible to see the spikes it became almost unplayable. But nevertheless, it was fun and looks great. Congrats!

Nice graphics and overall feel. I got some problems with jump button not reacting fast enough. Other than that it is a nice entry. Good job!

I love it! If HaxeFlixel made manipulating pixels much easier this would be the kind of thing I would have done this too. I will say that jumping is frustrating, it felt delay and too small so it was hard to tell when to jump over spikes and gaps. I'm used to using a key separate from the directional keys for jumping so moving while jumping is more comfortable for me.

Super good for three hours! Also, and I know others have said this, I love how you used the theme. Great stuff. Controls were a bit fiddly. I was having trouble with jumping while running towards ledges.

Clever idea. It definitely gets rough after you've collected most of those coins.

It was really tough to pull off the jumps even when I could see clearly. It was easier sometimes to just hold down the jump button while moving until I lucked into getting passed some spikes.

Nice idea, I like the use of visual distortion making it harder.

Jumping is quite hard, you need to be quite precise with them. I like that death doesnt really mean anything, and that you can use it to double back and get more coins. Feels a bit annoying after a while since it happens so often. Overall a fun game!

Too buggy, zero stars.

No really, I appreciate what you did here and I did not stop until had all the coins. The graphics are beautiful and the glitch effect is wonderfully weird. The game seems frustrating at first but with proper planning it is absolutely doable.

For a game with your unique visuals, the controls need to be a bit tighter in my opinion. Using a concept like Coyote Time might alleviate some of the more frustrating points where you keep dying after slipping off the edge again and again before an important jump.

The music was a bit repetitive for my tastes.

Overall a very good game, especially considering that you made it in only three hours.

Very fun game, the only nitpick would be the input lag from jumping. However, in the end, it didn't even matter since I just kept running around spamming jump until I got to another checkpoint. Really good job

The game is pretty good for 3 hours. The art and music are both great, but it got laggy for me later on. Jumping didn't feel that good. Maybe add a tiny bit more height to the jump to make the game a bit easier. You still did a good job for 3 hours.

I enjoyed the glitchiness that came over the game over time. And the general structure. Unfortunately I did spend a lot of time dying because I couldn't really get the jump-timing and physics of the world. On the other hand, it was relatively OK to just bounce around and die and die again since the game was so fast at getting you right back where you should be and since the glitches were a nice reward.

What a mess! Controls were a bit slippery, which did not help with how unplayable the game gets as you close in to 100 coins. The sprites for the rotating coins are super nice though!

Quite interesting idea. The player character is a little bit uncontrollable, and there are some pixel perfect jumps. Those two things seriously detract from the fun in my opinion. The glitch effects are amazing thoughs, and I will have to see the cartfile as soon as I get some time.

Cool game for that amount of time. I like the idea and it work well at first. But the platforming is a bit too hard, mainly because of too much inertia on the character and no delay to jump when you go past a platform, making long jump hard. Also there was a section I could not pass (a very large spiked section). But it was fun, keep up the good work.

Oh wow, I totally thought this game was impossible until I came back to the comments section. I enjoyed the playthrough I had even though I couldn't finish. This was the first game I saw that used visual glitches as the difficulty ramp.

Everything is really polished and looks great but there was some kind of lag with the input that made it harder to play ( maybe it's because I was using the html5 version). Good job !

Fun entry. Liked how you used the the theme, thought it was clever. The quick death restarts also made it easy to keep going as the checkpoints were so close you didn't lose much of the progress. Seeing the screen grow into such a glitchy mess was also really interesting. Liked trying to figure out what was going on.

Cool pico game! Fun mechanic with the insta respawning and distortion.

The controls were a bit too slidey / not fast for me, if felt that I did not have enough fine control to do all the antics I wanted.

I liked this game! I especially liked that whole glitch effect in the game. I wished you would metion that the glitch in the game was purposely created because for a minute, I almost thought it was an actual glitch in the game! The gameplay was alright. I would have wished for the core gameplay to be more refined and the controls to feel more polished. The graphics of the game were also pretty decent. I enjoyed the music in this game.
I loved that the audio wasn't repetitive and it sounded nice. Overall, I think this game is good!

Hmm not too sure on this one. On the one hand the graphics and effects are very good, and it fits the theme nicely. In practice, it's very hard to play due to the controls and the core mechanic is a little poorly explained and becomes frustrating :(

I'll admit that I played this one a lot longer than I expected. I guess it reminds me of the days as a kid watching television over the antenna and the picture would get really garbled. I did manage to collect all 128 coins, but that last one over the vertical line of checkpoints was a real pain. The music was a little repetitive, but for some reason I never got tired of it. The auto-jumping when holding up was a little frustrating at times.

20. Dec 2017 · 16:22 UTC
I found the distortion very annoying. I think games can be hard in a challenging way, which is fun, or they can be hard in an annoying, unfair way. Games that are hard the second way are very easy to make: you can flip the players controls or put invisible traps or distort their vision or just kill them randomly or simply increase the number of enemies. But a real challenge, I think, is beyond that. A true challenge forces the player to develop skill in a nice learning curve, or to spend some time thinking about a solution,...
Other than that, the game without the distortion was very beautiful, the music was cool too. Maybe the slippery movements and low jump were a bit annoying too though

My eyes are melting now x_x Very impressive work for a 3h games, I liked the idea, but it really gets messy when getting close to the last coins :) quite funny and entertaining for a while, but making this in 3 hours really makes it impressive :o tiny sprite looks good, music sound a bit cheap (how could it not when composing so fast :) but not annoying. I RQ scoring a little bit more than 120 but could go to the end aith this run, my brain really hurts now :) Maybe latter, trying to plan collecting in the right order... Great, efficient and fast job ! Cheers !
