The Last Battery by goncalomb

[raw]
made by goncalomb for LD 39 (JAM)

This is my first Ludum Dare submission and I made a "game" only with HTML and CSS (no JavaScript).

The world needs your help to keep the last battery from running out of energy. :battery::zap:

What a fun game, gj! I like the fact that you only used css, I might take the challenge on my next game

Very clever, and I think this is one of the few I might look into the source code of.

While it's cool that you made a game with just HTML and CSS that doesn't mean I'll give you a higher rating for it. I see a lot of rating bias based on the tools used, which kind of bothers me. All games should be treated like what they are, not based on their origins. There have been a few cases where I have wished there was an "Effort" category for ratings, and this is one of them. :P

The game itself is simple, but it still looks nice compared to some other Ludum Dare games I've seen. I also found the text humorous.

Good work!

Though it’s cool you managed to make this entirely in HTML/CSS, game itself wasn’t that cool. Some variation to gameplay could have made more interesting and challenging, like bolts with different sizes that give you different amounts of energy. Messages that pop into view where either pointless or I didn’t really have time to read them. If want to have backstory to game this simple, you need make it count. Random messages about flappy bird or Katy Perry do not build atmosphere that well and keep player engaged.

A very good effort considering you only used HTML and CSS, and strangely addictive! I didn't really feel like I had time to read a lot of the messages, but the ones I did catch were certainly humorous! Some sound effects would really lift the game, I feel.
