my fathers apartment by emmelineprufrock
a hidden object game made for April 2016's Ludum Dare. the theme was shapeshifter, so the game is sort of about the shifting relationship you have with someone's things and their past when you put them in an assisted living facility.
music produced by the jukedeck.com tools, but I opted out of being judged on sound in general. Send any love you have towards those fine peeps.
A post-compo version is live, and being updated, at the same link. It's labeled "post compo."

Still was a nice door though...
I'm working on a post-compo version that will have a lot more content. This is very much a first draft. Thank you so much for playing.
Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description
Nice mood too!
After some thought the whole experience made me think 'well, time-constraints really are the bane of existence for perfectionists*'.
On the off chance this hadn't already occurred to you; next time, may I suggest grabbing a couple of friends and going for the jam instead of the compo**?
Would indeed like to see a post-compo version, will have a look later.
*) Just at a guess from the way the art is so detailed, and it all hints at a far larger story.
**) I'm being a total hypocrite here, I'm afraid, but still :-)
The post-jam does exactly what I was hoping in that you can explore more of the objects in the room if you want.
I love how the tones that play when you find objects mesh well with the music -- I used a similar technique in my game!
I'd consider letting the music keep playing when you hit the final screen, so the end isn't as jarring.
Great work!
otherwise, about the text(ui?) now,i feel it fit the sound effect great, but i think,if these text(ui?) could come to emerge more smooth and slowly it may could be more fit for the rhythm (not only music, more about totally atomosphere) and let the read more natural ? not sure which would be more appropriate,ToT i think this may the fun which to build interactive art (every change have different feeling and effect> <)
all in all,so nice game and worth to save/play with more friend. Cheers~
Great music & art. Rly. I WANT MORE.
