Escape The Pyramid ! by Vegevan
鈥婬i everyone,
The Ludum Dare #36 just finished and here is my contribution ! This is my first time so please be nice with me.
The game has been created with Godot Engine v2.1 and everything is by me (art, sounds, music) as I participated to Compo' LDJAM.
Godot Engine allows me to export for Linux Windows and IOS quite easily, so you can all test this somehow. A web version is being observed right now, but don't expect it to work eventually.
I'd like to thank bog, my coworker of ever that also participated and made me some food to eat haha.
Have a nice day friends !鈥婬i everyone,

W and A won't work
also there seems to be a problem with scaling the window (I can see other screens)
For the scaling window, I totally agree, still lokking for proper solution. Thanks for feedback ^^
@QwaKlak WASD controls have been fixed. The bug you mentionned is about space being the HUD-select control; I fixed it by disabling the buttons. Thanks !
NB: It is 3:30 pm, the update is loading, so wait a few minutes and try in ten minutes :)
Thanks guys ! How about the gameplay / gamefeel ? Can you give me your feelings ? :)
@owndbyu Yay thanks a lot for your comment, glad to see a satisfaied player :D
@RugbugRedfern What do you mean with controls ? Try newest version (same link), maybe the problem is solved.
@SetTheBet really ? I cliked on the link and a zip file tried to be download, do you want me to host it elsewhere ?
I liked the part where I fell to the pit in the beginning because I thought it was a carpet and then read "This is a death pit."
And the "everything red react only once"
I just LOVE this kind of uh-oh humor!
The soundtrack is great as well! Really sets the funny mood.
Lighting was also awesome
Overall awesome job! I like this entry =)
All in all, a great game, pretty impressive for 48h! I especially like the lighting and the hook mechanic as well as the archeology/adventure vibe.
@g_o I'm so happy, you can't understand; that was hard to make something funny with only three types of cell and two mechanics ^^ I'm so glad you enjoyed, thanks for sharing it with me :D I guess WASD works fine now ? Anyway, thank you so much, you made my LD :D
@wheerd Thanks for the suggestions and remarks. About the character position, I haven't touch the camera settings but I will soon :) As I said, that was my first try with ligthnings and I had some issues with the occluders to make mysterious places (Stage_1 begin, you can't see the relic unless you're on the moving platform); come see my next game on LD37 for better lightnings ;)
The checkpoints were the very next todo thing, I'm sorry the time lacked for this feature :/
Anyway wheerd, big thank to you for your very complete comment.
Thanks a lot mates, I'll go to your entry with time, be sure of that :D
yup it worked sweet.
no problem, it's seriously one of my fav so far this LD.
@pogo575 That's odd; but I know there is (on stage 2 with red statues) a known problem up there; I couldn't get fixed on time and correcting it might change the level too much for a simple "fix". Sorry you had a problem. BTW, know that colliding while hooking stops the flight and makes you fall.
@onyon Thanks a lot, first time I try this kind of graphics :D
@g_o Many thanks ^^
In godot you can change "shadow_filter" to ESM "project settings" and play around with the "ESM Multiplier" value "light2d" to get softer shadows.
