AIM: Shoot all the gold crystals to win (the amount you need is in the top black bar).

CONTROLS:

- Move with W, A, S, D.
- Shoot your gun by pressing A/D and left mouse click.
- Walk over/collide with a blue orb to gain the "POWER OF THE ORB!!".
- With the "POWER OF THE ORB!!", press W, A, S, D and left click to shoot the orb in the corresponding direction.

RULES:

- STAY IN THE LIGHT CIRCLE! DO NOT GO INTO THE BLACK!
- Enemies will spawn around the main character. If they hit the main character they will do damage.
- If the main character stays in the black for too long, they will take damage.
- Follow the arrow to the nearest Crystal.
- The Crystal requires three hits to be destroyed.
- If you get to 0 health, the game is over.

TIPS:

- Use the blue orbs to kill enemies!
- BUT... don't do this too many times, as each time a blue orb creates a space, that space gets smaller and the speed at which space decreases increases!
- BUT destroying a gold crystal will reset to the default space size and the default space decrease speed!

This is a cool game! Very underrated. The screen shake makes shooting very satisfying, and the mechanic is really cool!

Brilliant concept, I love the idea of making spaces in the blackness by shooting the blue orbs. The music is great, too! My only real criticism is that it's made unnecessarily more difficult by only being able to shoot the standard gun while pressing A or D. If it's a four directional game, I really feel like you should be able to shoot the standard gun in all four directions too.

Very solid game! Props! Not much to critize other than that i had one little bug that i cant really explain where i drifted unstoppable to the left until i died.
But hey, its a gamejam ;) Really liked the core mechanic! Nice entry!

Very nice. I love the mechanic and art. Cutting through the dark with your orbs is awesome. I think aiming with the mouse would be better, especially when you click to fire. I found it hard to direct my shots sometimes (maybe I was just bad). Really awesome game, well done

I really enjoyed playing this game. It was fun, the enemys were nice and creepy and it definitely fits with the theme. But i got a little bit frustrated with not being able to attack downwards. And it was difficult to try to attack while backing up. Maybe some mouse related aiming would be an improvement. Overall nice game keep up the good work.

It is a bit hard to just aim left right. But it fits the theme and nice to play. I love the way how graphics and animations fit together.

Okay... Where do I start. My experience with this game was a bit... strange. It started out nice. The graphics are cool, the music fits the graphics well. Then at some point when shooting enemies I realized that my gun didn't shoot every time I clicked. I found out the cause and found it a bit strange that you couldn't fire upwards or downwards. It was very difficult to shoot enemies that way. Then a bit later I encountered a weird bug. Suddenly my character started moving on its own and I couldn't do anything. And I died. No Idea what happened.

Anyways, the concept is very interesting and executed nicely. A nice little shooting game! I had much fun playing it! Good job!

Good job. I'm curious as to why you don't aim solely with the mouse.

Awesome game! At first I didn't understand what to do, but as soon as I read the directions and started practicing, I couldn't stop playing! The game was fun and innovative and unique, and I really liked it! Sometimes it was hard to aim, but other than that, there weren't really any other serious problems! Great Job!

I love the core concept so much! I feel like it's a genius idea that is really held back by some poor controls. Having four directional aiming on the orbs but not four directional aiming on attacks is counterintuitive and lead to a very confusing first few minutes. The knockback on attacks to me feels unnecessary, since it takes away control from the player in a demanding game, and the screen shake works well already to create strong feeling attacks.

The art is spooky and simple, particularly the ghosts tentacle attack and the orbs lighting effect when shot.

Overall, the concept is excellent and very fun! Would absolutely recommend.

Clever use of limited space idea, but you concept have some problem with the element of random. The orbs just dont seem to have a consitency, and this its my main problem. Overall, good sound, graphic, feels. Nice work.

So satisfying, yet so infuriating.. It's so difficult to gauge the safe distance to an enemy.

Oh and here's the only time I can win:

It's fun original and very well thought! It fits perfectly to the theme! The graphics in a retro style works well and the music is great! Good job!

Interesting game! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 42 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/RBBzpxy2bdA
