Nice game, I enjoyed the text comments that showed up as collectables are found :)
I completed it with 15/18 collectables found.

Surprising use of theme - we have a lot of power but it still motivate me to move on and explore.

Not a bad platforrmer, and the scrolling messages really helped it stand out. They were very silly, and I might have to steal the idea in the future :slight_smile:.

I will say though, it was odd how the mechanic clashed with the game design. The map seemed to encourage exploration, but the power draining discouraged it. You managed to work around it by giving the player plenty of power, but I'd have loved to see a more elegant solution. Maybe a power charging mechanic??

Well done. It was odd that I'd get "game over" at seemingly random times. Maybe I was just not seeing something.

@cakemonitor, @teddydd, @galan, @jotson, thank you for your comments :)!

@galan

Original idea was to mix exploration with pressure of wasting all energy, mostly at the moment where you need to backtrack to the start. But with given amount there's seems to be no pressure. Yeah, lower energy capacity and charging stations might helped here :).

@jotson

Game-overs should happend only on 0% (label on top left) energy or when you try to fly too high. Not sure where other might happen. The fly-too-high game-over was added to prevent player seeing edges of the map, probably should've mention it in description.

@SuperEndeg - yeah, I was hit with a gameover from going too high with ~80% power left; maybe a "you are going out of bounds" type message rather than insta kill might be a little less harsh?

Overall I enjoyed this take on the theme, I would have liked some kind of progress bar or indicator to know how I was going, or maybe even some kind of minimap that shows areas Ive explored, but given the time constraints and the fact that sort of stuff removes the sense of exploration, those are more suggestions than criticisms.

I like the text scrolling at the bottom! Neat graphics too. I included it in my Ludum Dare 39 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIFo4JBAdvc

Cute little game. Enjoyed the fact that it wasn't necessarily linear and had those other collectibles. Also loved the animation on the bot's face, it kept me going.
