Breaking Down is a game where you need to complete the level before the lights run out of power while collecting the traditional coins (it is all about that money :) ), but to be a bit unfair you can't jump. Be thoughtful of your timing and move around using the moving platforms and ladder.

PS: there are a total of 3 levels only implemented, and the game will loop back to level one after you finish all the ones available. Didn't got to implement the 'you beat the game, best gamer ever' kind of refreshing screen message, so if you feel déjà vu have that in mind.

This game is definitely one of the best you will play on LD39, it is a great concept idea with an amazing execution.

The art is simple but it has an unique characteristic and looks good. The light fading out is so smooth and it suits the game very well.

The music is calm and pleasant and makes a great contrast with the fact that you are running against time.

The more impressive thing in this whole game is knowing that it is a one man's job.

This is a great game that has the potential to become a more complete game in the future, great job !

The concept, the graphics and the music are so great, but the game have minor bugs that frustated my gameplay, but anyway, it's a great game

@herniewise I would love to be able to play the piano like that someday, but I didn't got the chance to get my hands on one yet, it is in my dream list tho. The music is from public domain, it is called Aria and it is Kimiko Ishizaka playing it, if you google it you can get it from free music archive or listen to it on youtube. Since it wasn't me who did the music I opted out from receiving sound rating like it was explained in the notes when submitting. I am quite happy with the choice tho, I think it fits quite well with what I did art/code/concept-wise.

Nice music and graphics! I thought the style was really simple, but cool. Also the rendering of the light at its edges was really well done. Some control issues to do with ladders, but overall really enjoyable.

What a clean game! I really enjoyed the artwork, music and game mechanics (even though I kept trying to jump lol). I really like to see games where all of these aspects come together to make something unique. I also really like the concept behind the game. Hope to see more games from you, great job!

A very impressive game! It was complete, and it features graphics and music that are quite lovely. The fact that the controls were so heavy and the music was so calm contrasted to a somewhat annoying amount with the time limit, but I imagine that was your goal. Great work! I'm really super impressed.

Those graphics... I like them alot! The aesthethics and the enviroment in general are really pleasent. There are some minor bugs here and there but yeah, not a big deal. Good music choice!

Very good entry.

The graphics are great. Really enjoyed the Gameboy-like artstyle. The music is very good as well. The SFX are maybe a bit too loud, but not too bad. I liked the mood you created - very calming.

The gameplay is good as well, but feels a bit floaty. The jumps you have to make don't really seem like you should be making them. I never knew if I was jumping off at the right moment. It's not really clear.

Overall I really liked it though. Great job.

Really fun idea of gameplay. Nice graphics. Steering is definitelly a bit too floaty. Overall nice game, but needs a little bit more polishing.

I'm not sure what I was doing wrong, but I found it impossible to go up the ladders (using the keyboard). However, the look of the game is absolutely superb and the idea is fantastic. I just wish that I could have played it properly.

Liked how by just removing the jump button that we normally expect in a platformer you were able to make that lack of jump an actual gameplay mechanic. Was interesting to have to look at the whole and try to figure out the best way to approach the layout. The art and music also were nicely done and made this feel like a polished entry.
