Really nice game! It feels polished except the movement speed of the troops. They are really slow  Great Work.

Also check out my game in my Profile!

This looks great and seems fun, but I had issues with giving orders. On the first turn, I can tell them all to do things and they work just fine. Every turn after that, only the last soldier ordered to do something will respond (the other soldiers will continue their actions from previous turns, unless I clicked on them this turn which seemed to cancel their previous orders).

Edit: Also, you may want to opt out of the Audio category if there is no sound.

Thanks for pointing out the audio category thing, I'll have a look into the orders bug, diddn't have any enough time to balance or play test the game.

Interesting idea. It would be great if there were some visual indication of orders already given.
Good job

Liked the idea and the mechanics, even not managing to win a single match. Nice job.

Loved playing a match. When do you plan on releasing a single player campaign? ;)

Very fun concept! You have some time to think about your manouvers and the use of obstacles, while there still being fluidity in the motions of the game.

It's a shame you can't shoot over low walls though, but still very well done!

@tmvant the low walls, cover thing is a cool idea that diddn't even occur to me.

Yay, a strategy! Tested the mac version - works, but it keeps saying that all my troops are KIA when in fact there were fine. Love the voxel graphics. Check out my RTS too.

The Linux version needs to have its executable marked as *executable*, and for some reason I kept getting told that all my troopers were KIA even though none of them ever died.

Looks quite nice though, and the order system is okay, though it could use an indicator line for attacks as well as movement.

Great game and good execution of the theme. I enjoy playing it a bunch and thought it was decently balanced. I lost the game because one of my units knocked another one over. Not sure if that was meant to happen or not. Overall a great LD game and you should be proud of what you accomplished.

Can also confirm linux build works. Same experience as @Ananace with everybody always being claimed KIA, unless that's just meant to be part of *fun*?

Neat idea! Would be interesting to do it with larger armies and being able to select multiple units.

I got the same bug where everyone was KIA despite no one getting hurt (windows build - screenshot: http://black-moth.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/nospiders.png). Worked fine on my third try though and I managed to get to the end. Don't think I did anything notably different.
Good game once the bug stopped occurring! Was really tense trying to get the last guy into the dropship while the spiders were closing in and the rest of the crew was just hiding safe in the dropship ignoring their bud's plight =P

Nice game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 41 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPm7OCu9cQ8

This was a lot of fun! The shooting and movement of the troops seemed just right to me. The graphics were cute and very readable.

It definitely has some bugs. I got the 'troops knock each other over' bug, and at some point I just couldn't select 1 trooper any more. But otherwise, a nice game. Good job!

Good job! Cool game!
I really like lowpoly, but I thought the game could be more hectic.

I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.

I hope you continue with the project.

This was the perfect game for me! I'm really bad at actual real time strategy, so being able to sit back and plan things out, while still having things play out at a decent pace was great. Could sip some coffee at the same time~

An interesting take on the theme too. One would think that turn-based and real time strategy would be polar opposite and thereby incompatible indeed, but you managed to figure out a cool compromise!

Overall enjoyed it! Too bad there was no audio. ): Great job!

The Linux version worked for me, but for some reason it only runs in a small window. Still, it is playable; might be the 32-bit version acting out.

Segmented real-time tactics isn’t a new concept, Frozen Synapse immediately springs to mind. The theme was technically impossible, but this isn’t even a combination of genres to start with.

There is not a lot of challenge at the moment. 5 troopers are more than enough to repel the few enemies. I would have liked to see swarms of ~~bugs~~ horned... hounds? On my second playthrough the ending screen popped up claiming all the troopers had died while that was clearly not the case.

The graphics are ok, I especially like the chibi starship troopers and the fat drop ship. The gray terrain is dull and the monsters look silly sliding around the place. Voxels aren’t exactly easy to animate, yet it is doable and would have added a lot to the lumbering beasts.

The lack of audio hurts the mood, overall presentation and feel of the combat; never underestimate the importance of sounds! Maybe you just ran out of time.

Ok work. A lot of tweaking needed to unlock the potential of the idea.
