Our city is, and always has been, surrounded by a large dome. It have kept us self from the outside but now we are under attack from outside the dome. So we must tear down the dome so that we can flee and resettle.

Destroy The Dome is a game with the main goal of destroying the dome and widening your peoples horizons, before the nasty intruders destroys the city. You play as a god of explosives who magically does not damage the city.

How to play:

You destroy the dome by detonating explosives on the top of the screen (you will notice when the domes hp decreases). I also recommend using the keys to change between weapons.

"... who magically does not damage the city." - Oh, I see

Rock are op too since you can spam them directly on aliens (dmg does not depend on height)

Thank you!

Pretty cool and fun. I agree that the rocks appear OP, it was easy to spam them. Also it would be cool to see the difficulty ramp up a bit as you progress.

Nice work!

It does get harder when you start to damage the dome. You have to detonate stuff at the top of the screen to damage it.

People who spam barrels and rocks miss out on the most beautiful animation ever that is the nuke detonation animation! Fun game, and overall the visuals are super nice.

Very nice concept, trying to repel monsters while destroying the dome can be a fun challenge.

Nice work. i have to agree that a little bit of balancing would improve the gamplay.

Cool game aesthetics, game has consistent art style and it sets great mood. I like visual effects when enemies die and projectiles explode. Gameplay is fun, it's a challenge to complete this game even after a couple of tries. Impressive game escpecially if we take into account the fact that you wrote it yourself from the scratch.

Very cool! I had trouble hitting the dome with anything other than grenades. Also would have liked my cursor locked to the game window. I kept dragging the edges around, lol.

I love your backstory and "You play as a god of explosives who magically does not damage the city" got a laugh!

It was a really amazing and solid entry. The animations and sound effects are awesome, the graphics do well to the overall mood. It would benefit from some polishing on a better balancing, though.

It was fun to spam-click and watch/hear alien things being hit, and sometimes do some cool chocolate cake nuking. The gameplay feels good and the feedback is rewarding. It remembers me of good old arcades.

I quite enjoyed your entry. The graphics are definitely your strong suit. The nuke animation was really great! I also liked the monster design, although I don't quite grasp why you chose snails and then made them the fastest monster of the game. Must the radiation I guess.

On the flipside, I think the game could do with quite a bit of balancing. I found that all weapons except the rocks (1) and the grenades (2) were basically useless since switching between the two worked so well and their reload times were really low. Speaking of which, I think the game would have benefited tremendously from having individual reload times for each weapon. The game would become a lot more fun instantly. As it is, the awesome nuke is not really usable because you are pretty much stuck for a few seconds after using it, which deadly towards the end when the nuke would have been its most effective.

I think fullscreen would have been important as it would have prevented the game from losing focus all the time when clicking outside the boundary of the window. That happened a lot, especially since I had to drop the grenades from the top of the screen and often found myself frantically dropping some rocks on approaching monsters at the very edges of the screen.

The difficulty ramp up worked quite nicely for me until the very end when it was a matter of luck to find the sweet spot of not fighting the monsters anymore but spamming grenades at the dome on a race to see who loses first. That part could have been improved.

Overall a very nice entry that could greatly benefit from a little polish. Great job!

Nice game! The game feels like it could need some balancing, but animations and sound really fit well! I had some slight issues with resolution, as my laptop has a small screen. It is a solid entry, which fits the theme quite well.

really neat game,
i feel like the rocks are simply, the best thing in it, they get done very quickly, and they can deal a decent amount of damage.

the nuke looked really nice too.
the only the thing game was missing was some neat chilled sound track behind it.

great job guys. very good game.

Fun little game, I like this as a sandbox to mess around with. There small touches, like seeing the city crumble as it lost health was a nice touch.

The only problem I had with it was it never felt challenging (nukes were understandably OP). Maybe ramp up the difficulty as you play?

## IS THE REVIEW I WOULD HAVE WRITTEN BEFORE I REALIZED HOW TO PLAY ##

So I should have realized destroying the dome was an objective... When I started to try to do that it suddenly became a much more tense game of managing destroying the dome and keeping the enemies from destroying the city. Nukes became a last resort, and the entire thing became very exciting, great job

Nice game! Took me a while to get how to hurt the dome.

Good concept, it was quite engaging. It gets really insane at the end (when the dome is low). I ended up blowing up the city myself... I think some music would be nice.

I really enjoyed it: well done!

Ps.: thanks for the comment on our game! And well, you really did miss something at the end: there was a treasure to be found (not just some rocks). That's too bad for you I guess! ;)
