Space racing meets Musical Chairs in the fast paced arcade game "Spaced out".

Space cars require power to be able to function, power gates are located across the map; but beware, there is only enough power for everyone but 1. Don't be in last place or you will run out of power. Last car driving wins!

FFFAAAAAAAANTASTIC DUDE!!! This is really great. I would buy this game if it had more maps, backgrounds, car selection (or customization), and multiplayer. I'm serious. This is really good. A few tips: The countdown audio is half the length of the actual countdown, and its crazy difficult to recover from going off road. I don't want to say anything bad about the drifting because, well, drifting is the best part of any racing game amiright BUT it could use some sound like tires screeching but more spacey. I'm pleasantly surprised to say that although like a third of all the games I've seen in this LD have been space games, most of them have managed to be distinguished from each other, this one especially! :)

Really good game ! I loved the music and the graphics style. The gameplay is fast-paced, and need some time to be fully understood. It's really pleasant to play. Good work ! :)

Great art style and sound design. And it plays well. Great entry!

Really impressive graphics. Controls are tight and satisfying. Tracks, on the other hand, could be a little (or much) wider, for now it's really hard to stay on track and off-road slowdown is too punishing. If there were space to maneuver (and reasons to do so, i.e. obstacles or more power ups) such controls would just shine.
Also, it's very sad that you cant pick your spaceship before the race (I personally like the green one which looks like plane).
Realised, that wrote only one short sentence about graphic. Guys, it's really, really beautiful.
Great entry, thanks!

this is without a doubt the most polished game i've played yet. art was superb, music was banging, controls were fast and responsive, and i'm really amazed with how you faked the 3D with the vehicles. excellent job, duders. this would honestly be a really good full-fledged title.

oh yeah and of course, the gameplay itself was also very fun.

Brilliant audio-visuals, excellent in fact.

The controls are fine, yet driving is quite tricky as the levels are very narrow. Slowly floating back to the track is quite annoying. I'm not an expert driver so that might have something to do with it too.

The design is very basic, it's *carting in space*, but at least the "last one gets no fuel" mechanic is somewhat novel (I haven't seen it before that is).

Good work!

Oh, I had a blast with this one. The game is fun (albeit not THAT innovative). But let's face it: 'Karting but in space' already sells the game for me :D

Power-ups like slow zone fitted the game nicely. And of COURSE there is drifting! The controls were also pretty good. Maybe it was the camera that sometimes made staying on track a bit tricky. I also have to agree with HuvaaKoodia: maybe the tracks could be a bit wider.

Also, the "no power for the last one" mechanic is a bit problematic: it creates scenarios where you have dropped completely out of the race because it's not possible any more to catch up with the npcs.

Anyway, well done!

Oh, and one more thing: sometimes it was unclear which contestant got which powerup. Maybe only the player's powerup text should be shown? Also, try to reduce the amount of text during the race, there seldom is time to read them.

Fun game, and the graphics look pretty good as well! I did find the off-track slowdown to be a pretty severe penalty though.

First off, the art style is amazing! I love how you merged both voxel and 2D styles :)
That's a really clever racing game you have there, I would love to see a more complete version of it! Great job.

Impressive demo of what can be done with Löve in a short time. Simply a very polished and complete entry from controls to presentation and incorporation of theme. No real minuses, only that the track select interface seems to cut off on my laptop screen.

Nice way to twist a racing game. Cool aesthetics and environment, I enjoyed playing this game! it is challenging, but since I'm quite bad at racing games that may be not a problem hehehe.
great game, good luck!

Wow. Just, wow. This feels like a game i'd find at any App store. With a feel more levels and/or powerups, this could be it! It feels really polished, and the gameplay is smooth. The only thing that didn't 100% satisfy me were the powerups... i guess i'm just too used to random generation? Having a boost ready, and then accidentaly crashing into a slow field and loosing it... Well, I can't really complain, it's just a design decision, but it's more my personal opinion.

Overall, great feel, great looks and great fun. Keep the work up guys! Best of luck!

What a solid entry guys, this one is over the top! Probably the best game I've played so far. I love the 3D effect you've got there (layered sprites?), the hand-painted background, the music and the gameplay! They're all just work together very well, feels already quite polished. The menu was a bit too simple in contrast to everything else, but you've put your efforts to the right place. Any plans for the future with this game? Nice teamwork, make more gems like this :D

Wow, very polished entry indeed! I like the visuals and this voxelized 3d technique, flying particles, dynamics and smoothness of the gameplay. That's staggering, what you achieved in a time so shört.

Maybe it's easier on the pad, but I couldn't get the idea of drifting.
This green guy is a tough one! By the way, I think the opponents should also slow down off the track, it feels a little unfair as it is.

Nice take on a racing game! I thought it was interesting that there weren't any laps and it used energy instead. The art style is phenomenal! It would have been nice if the punishment for going off the road was a little bit less. It was often really difficult to get back on the road after missing a turn.

First off; shouldn't it be the opposite, the track being the void, and the slow-off-track parts asteroid fields? Ahah
The game would benefit from a slightly larger track, imo, given the speed you're going at; it's hard to stay on track and be good at the game, especially when you first start, which can be frustrating.

Otherwise, woah! The graphics are great, the audio is cool, and the game feels fantastic! I can't believe you've done all of this in such a short time. Kudos!
