CrossingDeads by roaderful
Genres: Zombies + Froggerlike* (It exist or I invented it) There's a Windows and HTML5 version for those who uses Mac/Linux.

Important
Finally, the game reached v0.3 where I think most of the problems are fixed (please God let it be).
_Desktop version is always preferred if you have Windows_
Problems being fix:
- ~~Zombies don't wanna cross~~
- ~~Cars just randomly stop forever~~
- ~~Weird collision behavior~~
- ~~Add instructions~~
- ~~About the game~~
- ~~Game over menu~~
How to play
Zombies will try to cross the road in group, the group is formed when tree (3) zombies gather together and then start crossing.
Don't let the zombies be hit by cars, they will die (like for real) and that will hurt you.
If one or more zombies die, the rest of the group will continue crossing without it; i.e. One zombie died, the group becomes of two (2) when to those get together, they will start crossing.
When a zombie (in group or alone) reaches the top corner of the last road, it disappears and grant you some sweet 100 points.
You lose HP when a car hits you, try to move away faster or it will hit you again. Use your traffic cones* to prevent the cars for moving. You can use up to three (3) cones in a row. You cannot place a cone while moving so make sure you stop before trying. A cone will fade away after 5 seconds and then you can use it again.
Zoom out to see the great picture of the cars moving around or play with the closer look to make it more challenging.
You can find version 0.1 as legacy version on Itch

One issue I had with the games is that after a while the cars stop passing by.

The graphics were fantastic and the music selection really got me pumped up. The theme was just great, and I thought I'd have a great time. However, I found this unplayable, and I didn't know what I was doing after some minutes and retries. I tried playing it on WEBGL and thought that the issues were because of that. But then I downloaded it, played it with keyboard and then with a controller, and now I believe this is just bugged.
The playable character can barely and very hardly move. Even when it has the moving animation, it will only move about a space when holding a direction, so I had to mash the buttons to move around. I never understood the point of not standing next to the light, and I never got cones. If anything, because I moved, I somehow glitched the other zombies, and now they won't cross the street.
And just like with @riktothepast , the cars just stopped passing by.
I don't know if the problems are my computer or the like, but you should check and see if this is a common problem of sorts that can be fixed. This looked great, but I just couldn't manage to do anything of it after many tries. Do let me know if this is addressed, since this looked like a game I'd have a lot of fun with.
I'll contact my team and see if they come across similar situations. Anyhow, we're looking forward to seeing more from you! :whale:
The game is broken in some part of it's logic, most of it (including the zombies) was made in the last couple hours of the third day so the integration wasn't tested.
I uploaded it like that 20 minutes before the jam submission. On the rush trying to pack all together and make it anything playable, couldn't figure out how to fix those bugs. :bug:
Either way, I really appreciate anyone who's playing and rating :v:
The rule of LudumDare say that you can modify your game after the end of the event if it's to fix major bugs. If you have time, it could be great if you can fix the bug !
The art (sound and graphisms) is awesome and it seems you used Godot, so I really want to play to your game ;-). I'll come back in few days.
Let's fix that :bug: :bug: :bug:
Let's fix that :bug: :bug: :bug:
:v: Hi guys, hope you doin' well
I tried to fix as many problems to make the game playable and more complete than the first version.
It would mean a lot to me if you play again and tell me what you think :v:
Gave it another try.
Win64 version:
- Either it is made that challenging on purpose, either I'm doing something wrong... was not able to earn even 100 points... died myself on my way back to escort newly spawned group. IMO: Cones life time is to short, movement speed is to slow (has an unnecessary delay), has to wait for a "full stop" to place a cone.
- Well I do understand that we are dealing with zombies, but a delay in controls responsiveness instead of adding to the mood and atmosphere it makes me feel that controls are not working and pisses me off.
- No bounding /limiting boxes was found - I can easily go out of play area
- Start screen mentioned Z for interact. Interact with what?
WebGL version:
- same as above, but also it zooms in and out on itself.
 You sure have a good eye to find things in the game.
* The cones duration is indeed to add difficulty, but trust me I played it and made it to cross all the zombies a couple times.
* I give it you that the delay is a bother, but honestly that is not on purpose, the logic in the code is this: **while pressing a direction key, move that way** not sure if that's an engine thing but couldn't fix it and decided to live with it :smirk: sorry.
* The bounding/limits is something I get rid-of on purpose, in a spirit of _Let the player do whatever he wants_
* The **there's nothing to interact with** is another thing I got rid-of purposely to make the game more minimalist on its mechanics, though I certainly should removed the instruction as it can mislead the player.
* The zoom toggles a 1 to 2 ratio on the camera, just serves as a toggle. If you think that it is in some way misleading I should also remove or rephrase it.
 Again, thanks for testing it. Dude you really answered quick, that's awesome
@Librorumque64 :scream: :grey_question: that is weird! :alien:
The concept is pretty good, though it took me a bit to realize the traffic cones were for the cars, not the zombies. I was thinking entirely Lemmings on this one.
