📖 Lore

There once was a young wizard who discovered an ancient magic. It was a dark magic. He learned the spells that were supposed to be forgotten. Blinded by the darkness he did the unthinkable - he sacrificed human lives to fuel his arcane powers. The kingdom captured this wizard and locked him in the deepest dungeon.

But the wizard couldn't be contained for any longer. You cannot be contained. ESCAPE THE DUNGEON!

👓 Overview

There are 5 levels. You don't have to beat them in a sequential order, so you can try all of them easily.

📒 RULES

1. All doors are locked, break them using magic!

2. Magic requires charges, which are obtained by slaying enemies with a dagger.

🎧 Headphones recommended, since you can hear enemies walking around the corner.

Please rate and leave a review. Appreciate it!

Awesome. Was very fun to stream and I found it difficult to give any feedback. It hit all the right marks for me as a player. Maybe show the level change to the user somehow, I felt like my session was all level 1 and I was thirsty to player more!

Fun watching the game on stream. Good concept! Could be pursued as a larger project

Good job! The game is pretty nice but the dagger could use some work as it sometimes looks like it hit an enemy but it didn't. The physics are nice over all but the first level could use a short explanation or something so you don't get yourself stuck if you don't kill the guard with your dagger through the bars.

Your game was played on my stream ( twitch.tv/ursagames ) for the first day of Ludum Dare streams - you can find the timestamp of your game here: https://goo.gl/N2rkr8

Loved the feel of this game. Despite the simple graphics, the stealth was solid. Could easily see this expanded into a story-heavy Thief type experience. The "soul as magic" mechanic is great.

One change I'd suggest is making the player kill more forgiving/fluid so you can react to an oncoming guard without ending up dead. There were a few times I felt the magic should have killed them before they could run me through.

But otherwise... I can't get enough of that dagger. XD

This is a very nice concept! The dagger gets a little finicky sometimes but that's forgivable. It's really fun to play.

Doesn't work :( All I got was a short pop-up.

I really like the action puzzle aspect of this game. It was a good balance of challenge. I loved the fact that you had to retrieve the dagger after hitting someone. It really makes it impossible to spam the kill function. I just wish there was more levels.

Really liked this one!

I liked the fact that the dagger can get stuck and you have to hide before getting it back (only if the other guard didn't stopped right next to it...).

Difficulty was high enough. After I played I remembered that there was a sprint function! :D

The only thing I would maybe change is the guards once they stop chasing you: they get stuck in their position. Sometimes they are in an angle that makes the level impossible. I guess it is voluntary, it is just that I prefer when you always have a chance (even a tiny one) to complete the level. Making them looking around them from time to time in order to get an opportunity attack would be good.

Good job! Nice little game!

That was fun! I got stuck trying to strafe a few times, had to let go of the keys and re-press them and then it was fine. I liked the simplistic graphics, they worked well!

Turned out to be a lot harder than I expected! Really great game, just wished there were more levels and a little more polish (sometimes I think the sword got caught on walls). Enjoyed it!

The movement felt a bit clunky, but a great idea and solid execution.
I suggest making the corridors a bit wider, and perhaps explaining some mechanics in the first level. I ended up quitting to check the help screen multiple times before I understood what was going on.
I found listening to the footsteps to be extremely helpful. A nice touch.
Great job.
