Defend the crystal by TheMonax

Just defend the crystal and that's it.

This is my second game for a Ludum Dare. I didn't have much time to do it because I have to study for my exams. I hope you enjoy it. :relaxed:

Very difficult game, only managed to get 65 points after several attempts. I like the wide arrangement of tools you are given to deal with the attackers, wish I had some breathing room to set up defenses between the hordes of enemies. Wish I didn't have to close out of the game and open it back up every time I died. Overall pretty fun, but gets too difficult too quickly for me.

Thanks for your feedback,I think i will make a post jam version for balancing the difficulty ;)

Good idea, and it looks good, too.

I think that you could improve it by making it easier to access the variety of weapons there are (I'm not shure if different keys would make it better, or maybe two for switching the active weapon and one for using it... You could try out a few different things).

A possibility to retry would also be great.

For your second entry, this is really impressive (I know, because this was my second real attempt, too)! Keep it up! :)

I had some trouble the first time I played, but the second time I realized the power of overlapping hurt zones and slow zones, with maybe a few walls for good measure.

After harvesting a bit of mana, things snowballed, and I practically carpeted the whole floor with slow/hurty areas, concentrated around the enemy spawn points. With walls around the crystal to protect stray snowballs from jumping snowmen, I had a pretty much undefeatable setup.

I eventually let the snowmen kill me, though, 'cause I wanted to see my stats at the end. 322 monsters, 228 snowmen, 5 bombs, 611 mana, 1211 points.

I enjoyed the game! I liked the variety of powers you could use in defense of the crystal. If you were to continue on it, you'd need to limit strategies like this, though.
