Frostbite by Blinkeye
Your family is freezing and only you can save the day.
In this game you are the father/husband of a small family. The only problem is that your family is literally freezing to death. Run outside to collect wood for the stockpile to keep your family warm and cozy. But beware! Stay outside too long and you might just catch... frostbite.
Afterword:
Had a great time creating this game. Spent the first day mostly making art assets and putting down the base for the movement system. second day i spent with the terrain generation en gameplay implementation only to remember i still needed sound about 6 hours before the deadline :dizzy_face:. I soon downloaded bosca ceoil with no knowledge of music but still wanted to finish the project complete by myself. So i made a music track and after a hour(s?) of hair pulling i got some form of soundtrack which was useable if i put the pitch down a bit.
This was my first ludum dare and learned really much, including about myself in those two days. 10/10 would do again.

While I found the control for movement to be difficult, I liked this as it gave the game that little bit of extra challenge.
Personally I would have like to seen a scoring system in addition to the amount of time survived (perhaps based off of time survived + the amount of logs picked up).
I also found that you can fall through the world if you go past the grey mountainous bits.
Overall though this is really well made and is a fun little game to play.

At first I tried to put the wood on the fire instead of the log pile.
Music is funky. Maybe a bit too funky for the scenario of a family freezing to death in the wild. But it keeps the pace going.
Cool snow effect, the inside of the home looked very cosy too.

Art is beautiful, game has a simple but effective loop going on. Atmosphere was nice, would have chosen a different track for the music personally but that's not something I'd take points off for. Good work! Got a highscore of 302!

The art is great (I especially love how the character get more and more snow on him as you stay outside), the concept is simple yet effective. The audio is a bit on the down side, but it isn't that much of a big deal.
