PÖSITRIS by shinyogre

[raw]
made by shinyogre for LD 42 (COMPO)

A Tetris-like game inspired by those desk calendars that attempt to motivate Nine-to-Fivers with meaningless platitudes.

Don't worry, your life is definitely NOT meaningless, and your office job is certainly fulfilling and important for a healthy, functioning society.

Nice Tetris game. I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 42 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/Bq9IqSUYX8Y

Fun game, loved the motivational messages. I've made a little video about it as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3d_a4f24BdY

Lord Jebus, the effect when you do a tetris is really amazing... and the minimalistic look is pretty cool... I also thought tetris fit this theme perfectly, it's a really good game to make even if it doesn't fill "innovative" it's quite complicated to program

The background sounds are nice, I would have loved to tweak the sound of the drops so that I could just hear the background keyboard noise... maybe my tastes are weird? haha

The motivational quotes give a nice twist... not sure if they are funny or just nice hahaha

A good tetris based puzzle. The effects and the minimalistic feel are awesome

I can't really say I'm all that impressed... It was a tetris clone with motivational quotes. Sorry, but there just has to be more than that to keep my interest. Thanks though.

It's just a standard Tetris.

It's Tetris. Tetris is still a great game, but this edition does almost nothing new, which is my main complaint. Everything else is pretty nice. The art style is cohesive and the sounds are satisfying, and the messages are amusing; this game is truly dripping with sarcasm.

Yup, sure is Tetris. I find myself wishing there was some minor mechanical difference, just to make it a bit more interesting and tie in to the theme.

My only real complaint is that the colours didn't contrast very well so it was hard to tell which blocks were empty in some cases,a nd some text was difficult to read. Otherwise, a solid tetris.
