Thug Slugs, indeed! I think my lame human body would cripple almost instantaneously after the first bullet.
I really like the look and feel you were able to show off with the characters and environment!
Great Job All around for a Jam-Game! :D

The game is really funny, but i think the sfx should be louder and the music more quiet

I love that graphics. Music is good but i think is not suitable at all.

I really like the voxel graphics! Did you use MagicaVoxel by chance? The concept is good and the environment you came up with creates an enjoyable atmosphere. I didn't really see the theme involved at all though. Had fun playing!

Genius concept - using salt as bullets in a slugs vs snails world! Loved the animations of the beasts, it'd be interesting to find out how you create those (I don't work with voxels, but know rigging doesn't work). I don't know if it's just me, but might be worth reducing the opponent's health or increasing the player's damage as I found it takes me a while to kill someone and then once I do I'm pretty much dead myself. Great entry!

The characters are extremely well done. I would like to see the game-play expanded a bit, but great work.

@johnyf I agree! I did a last minute change to the sfx and I feel like I accidentally made it imbalanced. Thanks for the feedback.

@probe2 Glad you like the look and feel! I love voxel art! Haha, yeah the music I last minute added as well. It was fun to jam to. But maybe it would have made sense to add some forest/wood theme.

@balance686 Yes! I did use MagicaVoxel. I will list that in my description of the game above. Forgot to mention the tools I used. I struggled to find a good idea that matched the theme. My mindset with this one was that you are duking it out with the snails fighting over your turf in the woods. Slugs/Snails eat decaying plants and stuff on the ground. So, it made sense to fight waves of enemies in a cramped play area. But I hear ya. Not quite focused on the theme. Thanks for the feedback!

@erikiene Thanks! I mean, why not use salt in a battle between snails and slugs? Haha! I actually wanted to go more in depth with their animations. I used some basic wobbly physics to make them feel more bouncy and alive. But I REALLY wanted to make them scrucn up their body as they move like actual snails/slugs do. Ya know? They inch forward but kinda of bend inward then stretch out to move. But didn't have time. I agree about the health as well. Enemies were too tough to defeat.

@jeke I want to expand this game as well! Polish up the movement a bit more. I can see it being a fun, simple game with a bit more work. Thanks for the feedback!

Not a fan of how the snails can only go towards or from the mouse, would prefer the movement and the aiming system to be separated, but hey it's your game! Nice voxels and music btw

@vekstr I hear ya. I was trying to figure out what would feel most like a slug/snail. So, I went with tank controls. Might change it up later.

I seriously loved those graphics, they're really cool! Music is also great. I gotta agree with @vekstr on the controls though, they felt kind of weird, but that may be just because I'm not used to play tank games. Great job!

@vekstr and @estudios-y-producciones-gusa what kind of controls would you prefer? I'm hoping to figure out a better control scheme for a game like this. Any feedback is welcome!

The game's graphics were good, but the sound effects and the music drove me nuts. With the music, there was some sort of high pitched noise that bothered my ears, which I only really get when I'm messing with chiptunes and such. (My speakers are fine.) Also, the gameplay was not particularly interesting either, but the idea of slugs and snails shooting at each other cracked me up! Great concept, but definitely needs some elaboration. Also, I don't get where the theme comes in.

It's a good game, I liked the animations and sounds.
I have some difficulty to feel nice with movements and controls and don't really understand how to shoot without being shooted.

But it's a finished game, then congrats and keep the good work!

@mertios Sorry about the sound issues! I didn't notice any high pitched noise. I've played through repeatedly and even played the music tracks separately from the game...but I can't hear any high-pitched noise. Yeah, I agree with you about the gameplay. It took a while to figure out what I wanted to do for this game jam. The theme didn't inspire me at all and it actually hindered my creativity. I'm sure if I continue working on this I'll change the gameplay drastically! Thanks for the feedback!

@chicomcastro I hear ya with the controls. I wanted to make it feel like a slug moves which is mostly just in a forward/backward direction and no strafing. Glad you got to play it! Thanks!

Funny concept with some cute voxel graphics. But the controls that you've chosen are not for me. It was really hard to aim at other snails and almost impossible to dodge their bullets while you shooting them.

@annie-owl any recommendations of what you would like the controls to be?

@thunderawesome I would prefer if snails were able to strafe, but yeah strafing snails would look weird  But maybe I just don't get the way this game is supposed to be played, and that's not a fault of controls. How did you suppose to dodge other snails while shooting at them with current controls? Or is it not possible?

I suppose this game is just a deathmatch and the goal is to kill as many enemy slugs as possible. Sadly for a deathmatch game there are not enough interesting mechanics in this one. You can't jump, you can't strafe, basically you can do nothing to avoid getting killed. You can somewhat hide behind a cover but that barely helps. Deathmatch arena although quite beautifully made lacks in size and obstacles. It's basically just a flat floor with four walls.

Overall I quite like the style of this game, the whole mafia slugs thing and all the other visuals are pretty interesting, but sadly there is not much gameplay in it.

Awesome game. Love the snail designs and music. My one suggestion would be to allow the snails to strafe. Idk if that would look weird (as @annie-owl) said but I would suggest to at least try it

i don't get how this ties into the theme but its a really good game!

@detectivelosos Really valuable feedback! Thank you for that.

@annie-owl Ah yes! Strafing. I can see how that would feel better. Separate the strafing from the rotation with the mouse and it would feel a lot better. Good idea!

@paulie-b yeah, I'm definitely thinking adding strafing would make it feel way better.

@merpader I hear ya. This theme wasn't very inspiring for me. It actually blocked my creativity.
