Explore the different levels, triumph over your enemies and reach the Forest’s heart in this action game.

Suzanne Awakens 1.png

After each level, test your skill by sacrificing your equipment. Sword, cloak or even boots : what will you choose?

It was 15 years ago, when the darkness fell upon the Kingdom of Numelion, that Suzanne proved her courage by slaying the creature’s vicious heart. And this is how this loyal protector of Her Majesty became a legend.

Suzanne awaits you!

The game looks really cool, but the gameplay lacks strategy I think. Is there anything I can do besides just standing and waving my sword? The concept of sacrificing combat abilities is great though, but there should be a tooltip in the selection screen, it's hard to tell which one does what

Nice graphics if you made all of them! My build was missing sounds though which is a bit annoying for me, but with light on the character you somewhat captured the diablo feeling so it's a nice entry overall. :)

Good graphics but fighting is too simple.

Well done !
The graphics are very good, I like low-poly 3D ;)
The game is quite difficult, I like this project !

The game looks good and I also like the concept.

But I dont really get the combat gameplay. Maybe it would play more fluid if you could move while attacking and attack towards the mouse/the second controller stick. Also it is hard to tell when enemies are actually attacking or getting damage, sometimes I get damage, sometimes I dont.

Maybe you need some hit feedback on player/enemy attacks. And the enemy animations should line up with when you get damage.

Really cool idea for a game mechanic! :D

Really liked the art style of the game and also the light spot looks gorgeous. The fighting could have been a little bit more challenging. Perhaps some push back forces, an animation or some sounds when the enemies or the player gets hit would have been an improvement. But its a jam and the time is limited, therefore well done!

I like the graphics and the idea of becoming less powerful, but I think having the character lose power and increasing the difficulty in every level can only work if there is more skill and depth to the combat mechanics; so the player can make up for the loss in character power with their own skill. And as it is in this game, the combat just isn't deep enough for that to be the case.

Edit: I forgot to mention that it's hard to understand some of the icons when picking something to sacrifice. Some sort of tooltip on mouseover would have been nice.

Thanks for all your comments! It's really cool to read what you liked and what need to be improved!

We thought about a feedback when Suzanne is hurted but we needed more time to make it. Then, we know that sacrifice menu isn't very clear, it was the idea: a new player would be hesitant whereas an experienced one would know how to make a choice. Maybe we did it wrong.

Sorry for my english and thanks again for your detaild reviews!

Pretty cool game and interesting mechanics. Could be a little more fluid but it still running decently. The gameplay is a bit linear tho, beside the sacrifice mechanic, you just hit and run. Although for the given amount of time it's a really good project. Loved the idea & the graphics, congrats

I wanted to try this game because the graphics and the pitch hooked me. Unfortunately my computer does not support OpenGL 3.3 :/ Can't play and the game but at least you managed to hook me with your presentation. So good work for that!

Good graphics. I couldn't figure out how to effectively fight this control.

Great Game! I think a little more balancing the enemies and character would make it even better! You should continue developing it after the game jam!
