Nice combo of themes, abit hard to aim, but other than that. Good game!

Not bad! It took me a minute to understand how the ball bounced off the paddle, but I got the hang of it. I noticed that zombies on the far edges of the field were waaay harder to hit than zombies near the center, which was a bit annoying. Good work though!

Great idea, tennis might indeed be a sport where there is a form of survival (holding against an attacking adversary), so expanding on the matter by adding zombies is a great idea ! The mechanic est simple enough and the game is enjoyable, even if the aiming system is a little strange (positioning your racket accordingly isn't really intuitive), but kudos for the sound design ! (Was that an apple ?)

Great premise, and pretty darn well executed! You got a chuckle out of me when I hit the uprights and got a little *ding*.

I would have benefited greatly from a quick tutorial on how aiming works, but it is fairly intuitive. In fact I got the point pretty quickly about how this 3d pong like was controlled. I liked the perspective, makes you feel more like you're getting mobbed.

My main complaint is that some of the edge spawning zombies sure were hard to hit. A couple plays found me only dying to those lone dudes. I'm also not convinced that being able to aim vertically is necessary for this game. I could be wrong, but I think horizontal aiming might suffice and be easier for someone just jumping in.

Awesome job overall! I can't imaging tackling a 3d environment like you did. GJ!

Also thanks for the html link

I like the mix of themes. The game is fun, although I agree with the comments above about the zombies on the far edges. Not only they are too hard to hit, but also because of the timing of the balls sometimes it's impossible to do it. You should also add high scores
Great work!

I like the idea, the game was pretty fun. The controls could use some improvement, such as when you move left or right, it could be a bit smoother :-)

Other than that it looks pretty good, gj :-)

Pretty fun game with easy to pick up mechanics, and the mashup with horror is cool! I think the zombies on the side flanks are a little unfair though, as you pretty much have a tiny window to hit them before they go out of range. Otherwise good job on your first game jam challenge and I guess when I eat an apple the next time I'll think of brains...

Nice idea but...
- the zombies are the flanks were almost impossible to hit and a lot of time spawned there
- control was kind of hard to get used to
Other than that maybe some ambient music would have nice but that's okay :)

I also need the ratings so give my game a try if you find the time, thanks :v:

Fun game, with interesting controls. It was pretty hard to hit the zombies on the sides, because aiming with the paddle was very hard. Maybe having some visualisation on how you were aiming could help.

The sound effects were humourous and I like the phase of the game, having some music would be nice. I like the use of the theme in this game, certainly an incompatible mix but you got a cool mechanic from it.

Overall, good job. The game needs some polish but the core mechanics are there

I just realized LD has the 'danger zone' category and since I'm a big 'Archer' fan I'll most likely focus on those games from now on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PzhsPS8Z50

You had a great idea and you got the core of it right. 'Tennis Defense' is certainly way above average in the 'fun' category as far as I'm concerned. There are few issues that other people pointed out (zombies that spawn on the side of the screen are very hard to kill) and the game could use a bit more polish in general, but again - the solid core is there. I can't wait to play your future jam creations. Good job!

This was a simple and fun little game. Some music and some better graphics would have been great. The controls is simple and they works very well. Overall a fine LD game.
