Kittea Party by JPiolho

About the game
Lovely old lady Gertrude wants to help poor stray kittens by taking them into her house… And she also loves to organize tea parties for all her friends! BUT - too many kittens (while awesome) means that the house can rapidly become a mess! And Gertrude’s friends don’t want to stumble upon smelly cat poop while they’re drinking darjeeling tea and eating butter cookies. But fear not – if Gertrude acts quickly, she’ll be able to clean the annoying poop in no time!

The goal of Kittea Party is to find a happy balance where Gertrude has all the kittens she needs to throw a party (each new party requires more kittens than the previous), but still be able to maintain a relatively clean house. Successful (and poop-free) parties give Gertrude more prestige, which in turn means more friends!
How to Play
- Choose between WASD movement or WASD relative to mouse.
- Press E to clean poop
- Random adoption popup will appear from time to time asking if you want to adopt a cat
- You need a certain number of cats to host a tea party
- If a guest steps on poop, they slips and leave the house and tells everyone what happened, leaving you with less prestige.
- You lose if you reach negative prestige!
- When the party comes to an end you earn 1 prestige for each guest that made it
Notes
- There is no PAUSE menu. To leave the game while playing either lose or Alt+F4

If anyone stumbles upon this and tries the game - thank you and I hope you enjoy it! :D
The pixel art is beautiful, the colour palette is really well chosen.
I found the mouse direction movement to work best for me.
Laughed a lot at some of these old ladies, great character design.
I did get knocked outside of the house by one of my cats though.

Had lots of fun though!
I tried the Linux version btw, thanks for the upload
don't forget to check out my game :)
Although, I like you humor on this one. Cat lady, who constantly adopts more cats, and hosts Kittea parties? 5/5 in the pun nomination.
Amazing work guys, love your game!
Here is a few thoughts about your game Kittea Party
**Graphics**
Great work on the artwork. I think the main character Gertrude looks and animates really well, and there is a few details like the rounded borders on the rooms that made the environment really pop. Some dimensions and angles seems a bit off though. If that was intentional it could have been more clear to make it a bigger part of the overall design. I'm nitpicking here, it really looks stunning.
**Theme**
This is, together with graphics, the strongest feat of the game. Clever, fun and unique. Enough said.
**Gameplay**
For me this was the weakest part of the game. I found myself running between the two rooms, clicking on everything over and over. I'm missing some kind of strategic element or challange. On the positive side, the game feels good. The controls feels snappy, and that's important.
**Overall**
Good looking, cute game that only lacks some kind of hook to be something great.
Good job!
Overall, I had a good laugh while playing this. Congratulations on your entry!
Um jogo simples mas engraçado. Parabéns pelo jogo. :flag_br:
Thank you so much for trying our game and taking the time to comment! :) And thank you as well for all the constructive criticism - we're already discussing what to improve/implement next!
Besides that, very charming art and concept, nice job.
Congrats on your entry!
Unfortunately I felt the game got a tad boring after a while. I could keep saying no to adopting cats and didn't feel any downside to saying that. So after that, not much to do but to keep walking from room to room cleaning poo on the floor.
But this does feel like a good concept for something with more mechanics, and was a lovely happy game. Congratulations on your great work :)
It would have been nice if the player could see if the highlighted poo was within cleaning reach or not.
Congrats on your game!
