Run N' Cook by LeonLaci

Run N' Cook is a run n' gun plus cooking game mash-up. A famous person has come to the city and you, the master chef, have been task with cooking his favourite meal. But he's demanding, asking you to get all the ingredients by your hand (he doesn't trust supermarkets).

+It's an interesting concept, having to go out and scavenge your ingredients instead of being given them.
+The music loop was pretty alright.
=========
-I genuinely had no idea what I was doing. Didn't know what the purpose of the fields or cows were and kind of
just ran aimlessly.
-Enemies have a pre-defined spawn. You could've given it some slight variations. Enemies also spawn inside the camera. (hint: Use Random.Range and the Camera's Viewport)
-The game lacked an inventory.
I feel like you didn't have enough time to truly flesh out the game. This can actually end up being something quite unique. I say, keep working on it, you have something here.
The art is cute, and the idea is pretty unique. Though, I'm not sure it's there is much 'incompatibility' going on with the 2 ideas. It mostly is just a run-n-gun with a specific setting.
Good job!
No way I'm working on that piece of trash game ever again :joy: It was all rushed and I wasn't feeling like woring. :stuck_out_tongue:
Sadly, I can't say it's an amazing game (and I know you agree with me). Though the gameplay in essence is fun, it's not polished enough in its current state, and about 80% of the game is time-gated content by waiting for bars to fill. There's little challenge except not getting jump-scared by an enemy spawning right on top of you, and a severe lack of interactivity.
Congratulations for the game!

Why do you use J for inventory? There's not a lot of buttons in the game, so it's annoying that I have to lift my right hand from the mouse to press a button on the keyboard. Not a big deal, just a minor thing that's easy to fix.
Overall, good game. Fun and goofy, which is great for game jams. Good job!
Is there a way to know the number of actual resources? (didn't find it)
It could be great with more visual/sounds effects (ex: when resources are collected or when percentage completion is complete).
Good job! Especially for a compo game. :)
