But... attack on space is bad, because u will die faster.
and can i complete it? i have no damage taken, run fast. never you space bar and always die on activating 4rd generator :(
Great job anyways!! ^^
Overall though, this was a super solid game! Continue working on this!
I really enjoyed your level design. If this was mostly unintentional kudos for the natural talent ---
I like how the beginning of the level introduces the player to movement and jumping without pressure from dying with the platform area. As you charge (pun intended) into the level, the generator mechanic is immediately apparent, followed by the first area with scaffolding platforms and enemies blocking you, and the kite. I even knew the kite intuitively was an interactable because, its all about electricity - power running out - you're charging the world back up and the whole kite and key ben franklin bit right? That's some damned fine gameplay right there. The "Buy the DLC to fight me" guy was a nice touch of humor, but the end was a little lackluster with the typos pulling away from the overall polished feel.
Nice!
Two recommendations. The spacebar attack isn't totally clear what it's range or hitbox is. Also, the perspective on the platforms looks really nice but it's a little bit hard to tell where the platforms edge is. I found myself often jumping way too early because of this until I got the hang of the perspective. I ended up beating it in like 6-7 tries but wishing there was more!
It would be nice to add an element that indicates you can reload energy when you pass over the kites.
Nice entry overall
These are among the best visuals I've seen in an LD game, great pixel art.
Overall, the art style, music, and theme really played together. I could see this being a classic SNES game back in the day.
Player movement has waaay to much inertia, makes platforming (unnecessaryly) hard.
Nice graphics but some sounds do not work with the game theme.
Anyways, good job :)
Stalker/Lovecraftian monster design is what sold the game for me, personally.
It's really challenging and fun. Good graphics, mood, music and concept.
I kinda missed a dedicated Jump button though. Jumping with "up" feels weird when you are not using a gamepad. The bit of randomness in enemy placement/movement sometimes created pretty unfair scenarios where (for instance) two enemies would be in the way when normally there's only one, making me use two attacks in a row, which depleted my energy entirely, so I think there's room for improvement there as well.
Overall a pretty solid entry, and in fact, I'm pretty sure this is the game I've given the highest scores in basically every category so far. Kudos for such a great job!
Music, sounds, and graphics were very nice. Deciding whether to fight or avoid is clever too.
Nice job!
The fail and DLC jokes worked for me haha :D
The only things I would say is that the game was a bit rough with the transitions between start screen, game and end (the music too), and that if you gave something special to the kite (like a glowing outline, a color that is different from the rest, or just subtle indications that thunder could interact with it), players wouldn't have to read the line about it here and could finish the game by themselves.
Still a good experience overall!
I have an issue with the controls however, they are rather floaty and it's hard changing directions.
With the edges being somewhat 2.5D it's taking a guess about where the actual end of the hitbox is.
The enemies can also combo you into the air, only happened once to me though.
The game doesn't leave much room for mistakes, you just gotta redo the level. Which works because it is rather short.
Recharging with flying kites is a pretty cool idea in my opinion.
Overall i must say the art outshines the gameplay here
Why does the player die once he runs out of Power? Why does he lose Power when he is hit? Also Interactions and energy attacks made did reset the speed, which you also gain to slowly so that if you are hit by an enemy you have to attack them, which does punish the player twice. Some Checkpoints would have been nice as well. Overall a good Game with an very innovative concept.
