Damn Birds by omaskery

Patience is a lovely old lady who just loves those damn birds, she'll do anything for them. The neighbourhood cats are starting to test whether she lives up to her name, though, by hunting her precious robins!

Help Patience pollute low-earth orbit with local felines to protect her winged friends, one swing of her walking stick at a time, before her patience runs out! Watch as her calm slowly returns once lovely birds are comfortably perched in her garden! I'm sure there will be no consequences for golfing cats into space at all!

Keyboard controls: - Jump: Space - Swing Cane: Left Control (or Right Alt-Gr) - Move Left: A (or Left Arrow) - Move Right: D (or Right Arrow)

X-Box controls (other controllers untested): - Jump: A - Swing Cane: B - Move Left/Right: Left Joystick

Nice minimalistic artstyle. Everything manages to convey exactly what they are with very few pixels. The minimalistic AI also does it's job very well, the cats sometimes miss, the robins sometimes flutter around. It all creates some nice emergent gameplay.

This game need sound and some higher stakes for the player(like the player dying so you have to restart) for the game to be really good. But I liked it. The bird animations are wonderful. Good job!

Haha, it is astonishingly satisfying to take the cats volley ;-)
The controlls are smooth and the gameplay fun. I liked the minimalistic art. Came to 6 birds at a time.

Nice and simple game, I would have liked if you could jump with arrow up, got confused a lot of times by it :)

The game is very simple but is has a great "art concept" so well done, beautiful game overall, I wish it had some sounds would've made this game even better, besides that great job !

The art style as much as game mechanics are simple yet efficient! The only fact that I put 152 cats into orbit must be a sign that the gameplay hooked me at some point :)

it's a cool idea but it needs something to make it less repetitive. I got 105 cats in orbit :)

Light on features but simple and pretty fun. It's amazing how you made birds recognizable with literally 5 pixels, pretty impressed and tickled by that. Obviously some audio and some kind of progression would help take the game further, but LD's a crunch and that's the way of it. Had fun and had a few laughs. Nice job!

Haha, I played this way longer than I thought I would. Simple but fun. I like that the old lady is pretty much a ninja master. It didn't seem like difficulty ramped up though. Sometimes there would randomly come waves with a lot of cats but then it slowed down again. The simple graphics worked well but I wished there was some sound as well. Ending screen made me laugh!

I love it, but at the same time feel bad for clubbing cats into orbit! :P Really unique idea, nice simple graphics and a brilliant sense of humour!
