Mariachi Punch Maggle by NoNameNoSocksAndGuests

[raw]
made by NoNameNoSocksAndGuests for LD35 (JAM)
Mariachi punch maggle

- W to use fire punch
- X to use water punch
- C to use Plant punch

- SPACEBAR to bash

This game is stil a work in progress, and will be over soon.

We did not managed to finish it in time, however, it's been a great experience.
This jam was the first gamedev for most of us, we learned a lot, we had fun, we ate pizzas,
and we are (at least I am) very proud of it.

Mariachi punch maggle is about punching some mariachi skelleton butts.

You have tree available shapes :

- W -> fire punch
- X -> water punch
- C -> Plant punch

kill skelletons by using it's opposed element
Fire > Plant > Water > Fire

If you use the same element as the ennemy's, you will have to bash the spacebar to kick his butt anyway.

I wish we had pizza at our jam site.
I really love the little characters in this.

Great gfx, a bit low on the theme count :)
Was fun to play, you should put more levels / settings, maybe having to face enemies from both directions...
Good job!

Nice graphics, but too hard for me to play.
Anyway, good job!

Lovely graphics. Timing punches is definitely challenging in this one, but it's a cool idea for a game.

I think having your attack keys all in a row and showing how they're mapped in a small ui element during gameplay would have gone a long way. I had trouble remembering which key did which attack. I also think the collision detection on the player's punch animation could have been a little more forgiving.
The game looks beautiful though.

Fun sounds, and challenging timing on punch, but a little hard too. ;)

A cool initial idea, surely needs more content and the Shapeshifting could be more evident. Nonetheless, I like the Pokémon/Mariachi crossover, graphics look good and I like the skull bashing sound. :)

The Graphics looking really and is a challenge to play. You should maybe tweek the battle and also add a way to control how hard it is.
