Glowing Meadow by Ekilibr

:herb: Welcome to the Glowing Meadow! :herb:
The more plants you have, the worse it is!

You've just been awaken to free the three other forest guardians in order to revive the Ancient Oak, thus bringing peace and balance back into the Glowing meadow.
To do so, you'll have to gather four golden seeds. These ones will bud if you have enough plants. For that purpose, you need to take care of your garden by watering the glowing plants and cutting off the dark weeds.
Each freed guardian will help you in your quest by granting you a magic power !
By the way, do not forget to water your faded plants, or they might catch fire..!

Well done
This truly fits the theme the more you have, the worse it is. Well done guys!
Graphics and sounds gives an awesome mood. Great work !
I finish at my first attempt but it start to be hard after the third power.
Quite relaxing with a great feeling.
Good job team !
Good Job!
Its absolutely beautiful to look at and the sound fits perfect to the mood.
Its very well polished. The gameplay is minimalistic and very relaxing.
Two little Notes:
1. I stuck right before the first big leaf because there were no new green plants.
2. And indicator on the "good" plants before they dry out would be nice (or maybe I just missed it^
^)
Overall I love it fantastic job!
@SamuraiSpark, yes we considered having that kind of feedback, but you would have lost the "always keep an eye on" thing ^^
For your first remark, could you tell me what happened exactly ? You watered the first plant of the tuto and then nothing happened?
Thanks again guys for all the love!
The art style and sound were really lovely. The gameplay is fun for such a simple concept, the difficulty curve as great and new powers got introduced at the perfect rate (though it would have been cool if there were more possibilities to use them) Really well-done and polished game.
The issue with the zip format is quite annoying, we'll try to reproduce locally and fix it asap.
For the plants being surrounded by other ones, that was kind of a conscious choice, to make you cut "good" plants in order to keep a clean garden and avoid fire starts ;)
Sorry if you felt it was too much penalizing!
Few nitpicks: It would have been great to move diagonally. Also snapping to nearby plants wouldn't be a bad thing (very hard to polish, I know). I kinda felt that the game was bit too slow (I kinda got stuck sometimes since new plants weren't spawning). more action and speed wouldn't hurt :D
In conclusion: nice game! enjoyed playing it. good job!
But let me take a moment to appreciate whoever set the pace of the difficulty curve. Difficulty curves are very very important to set the flow of a game and also a games ability to keep your attention. You guys did a fantastic job at setting the pace of your game, and that's not an easy thing to do... trust me I know. Great Job Guys!
Yes, balancing was definitely one of the biggest challenges we faced while developing the game.
I'd say it's been a team effort of playtests and tweaks to make it as it is!
Check out my game if you like! You shant regret it

Take me some times to realize dead plants can be revive. So the second part was longer for me x) but well that was fun.
Apart that: really good progression, controls, sound, musics art... Everything fit wells! I had a wonderful time, thank you.
The only issue I had, at first, was telling the difference between a dying plant and a weed.
