You're running out of PEWer!

Defend your planet in this time bending twin-stick shooter!

Or just enjoy the pew pew pews and pretty explosions...

Taking damage or shooting costs energy, while pickups dropped by defeated enemies recovers it. The fabric of time is directly linked to your energy, so as you run out of power things will start to slow down, until eventually everything stops and time itself breaks.

Features: - Four different enemy types with unique behaviours - Ever increasing difficulty - High Scores (post your best ones!) - Keyboard and controller support (Controllers are recommended though!) - Lots of Pews!

Minor update 1.1: - You can now toggle to a low quality version with Q

Team TheLuckyPew consists of: - Berend Wouda: Lead Programmer - Arne Bezuijen: Art & Game Design - Nathan van Ofwegen: Audio - Joël van Neerbos: Programming Support

Good idea. I wonder if maniability cannot be better. It was hard for me to pilot correctly my spaceship.
Enhancement idea, to grab enegy if you kill an ennemy?

Awesome graphics, very nice game. Liked the sound effects and the juiciness of the particle effects.
The gameplay itself is a bit limited. Still had fun with it, great job!

Amazing job! This game is absolutely beautiful! The special effects and sound really add to the experience. Gamepad controls are nice and responsive.

It always amazes me when people create something of this caliber in a weekend, great job!

Some players were reporting that the game was a bit heavy. Considering the fast paced gameplay a smooth framerate is quite essential so we added an optional low quality mode: You can toggle it with Q. Enjoy!

Definitely the game with the highest PEW-factor so far. I love the effects (such as the explosions and the trails of the ships) and the visuals in general.
The gameplay is quite appealing too, although playing it with a keyboard is less fun than playing it with a controller.

Well done!

Fast paced and fun. Very good graphics, and good sound effects. I couldn't get my controller to work though, so had to play with keyboard. Shooting with arrow keys is awkward, would have been far better to aim and shoot with mouse.

Graphics and visual effects are brilliant, and the slowing down mechanics is great, auto-balances itself nicely so you have loads of near misses but then comebacks. Great stuff!

I LOVE PEW PEW!!! This game made my day after work, it's awesome. I have totally nothing to object. I wanted to make a pew-pew game myself and you guys rock. I love the planet, the controls, the lighting, the time slowing concept (with sound pitch changing), I'd give 6 out of 5! I'm putting this onto my list of best LD games ever!

The game looks cool, but i would recommed trying to do movement somehow else(change camera view, angle, size, etc) it will chagne a lot. But great game. :)

Looks really cool but it doesn't run natively on Linux or web. If I get access to a windows computer I will try it but a Linux port would be greatly appreciated.

@linus Yeah, it would have been nice to add mac and linux ports. We didn't have access to build machines other than windows though :/

However, since it's build with Unreal it should be easy enough to build it yourself from the source. (In proper Linux fashion :P)

Fun shooter! The keyboard movement felt too stiff but the gamepad controls worked well.
