Really cool concept! Very solid game with very tight core mechanic. Love the art style, and it plays really well. Good job!

Wow ! Great concept ! I loved it, really smart idea with nice graphics and nice audio as well ! My best score is 25, it becomes really hard when there are a lot of ennemies ! Good entry !

I like the mechanic. Nice art. My only complaint is that I died on a stage because a enemy was hiding behind a tree. Lovely game though. If you get a chance please check out our game https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole

Wow cool idea nicely done. It took me a little bit to figure out how that the attack worked on my turn just my running at them. Good idea, nice pixel art, nice sound. Good entry.

Good game! Small, easy playable, neat graphics, solid gameplay. You should consider a mobile version and monetize the concept. Good luck!

Man, this was a simple yet elegant mechanic! I agree, you should consider taking this concept and bringing it to mobile.

I died once to an enemy hiding behind a tree, so an enemy highlighting effect could be a nice addition there. Other than that, nice art and music. Very nice job!

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I also love this mechanic, but maybe that's cuz I came up with it(no clue how though.)

@homineludens and @devastus yes, I do plan on taking this game further past LD, but I'm not sure I'd want to do mobile. Steam would be the preferred platform.

Nice pixel art! The stop and go mechanics are neat. I just tried to kill as many as I could on my turn and hopefully was positioned far enough away to not get killed.

I LOVE the concept. Seriously I always thought that should be more ibrid real time-turn based and this is really really cool. Love graphics and music too

Had to spend a bit of time to wrap my head around the core mechanic, but I'm glad I did. Cool idea!
Love the art. The animations are very fluid and it controls well, making it a joy to play. The music is super groovy as well.
It's going to be a great game if you expand on the LD version!

This game is so cool!!! The main mechanic is very clever and different. I think you should keep working on it.

By now, it's fun, but gets repetitive. Adding new enemies and designing the levels one by one should fix it.

I really want to see this game evolving =D

The mechanics of this game remind me of Transistor, perform actions when time is frozen for enemies. Very original as you have developed. Love your pixel art and your small universe. Well done.

This is a really good game. Honestly if it was more fleshed out, I wouold pay money to play this game. If you add a story into it you could sell this. The game mechanics are awesome. The music and sound effects just fit in with the game. The graphics were simple and beautiful. It all just worked so well together. I would suggest implementing a more detailed explanation on how to play the game. It took quite a few tries before I could figure out what I was doing. After that point it was really fun. A tutorial level should smooth out that learning curve and help people get to enjoying the game much faster. Great job!

This is AWESOME!

I've never felt such a sense of urgency in a turn based game. If this is a mechanic you thought of yourself then bravo to you.

This is one I could keep playing for a long time, I was really sad that the game fully restarted when I died because I made it through quite a few levels.

It makes you stop and think - 'can i get all this done in one turn?'

Really. Really. Good.

Never seen anything like this before. Even though the combat is real-time the character placement actually becomes like some kind of adhoc puzzle each time. Very satisfying seeing the enemy AIs stop just in front of you. Almost like the "don't blink" angels from Doctor Who. Overall, I thought this was pretty great.

This is the most innovative game I've seen today! I loved it. I am a fan of minimalist pixelart style and this game is a treat(I made a minimalist art game too). I loved the turn based mechanics, but took me a while to find out how I attack the enemies. Solid entry, gj :D

Really amazing! The mechanic is so great and fun, I played for quite a while (though the outcome of an enemy turn seems kinda random). Also diggin' the visuals and music.

I could very well see this being developed further. Add a few more obstacles, enemy types, power-ups etc. and you'll end up with an awesome full game. Cheers!

Wow, wonderful entry!

Everything is so minimal (start menu, UI, controls, graphics, music, gameplay) yet so effective!

It would be good to have own highest score displayed.

I also have lost because of an enemy hidden behind a tree.

But I love this kind of "survival" games!

Great job!

Art is great, Music was fantastic (loved that it transitioned in and out of the enemy turns), Gameplay was simple and solid!

Enemy turns did feel random, sometimes they would go straight for me, sometimes they would just kinda meander. So it felt like I won/lost due to luck a lot of the time.

Had a lot of fun with this one, great job!

Wow great game! It fits the theme really well, and the graphics/audio work nicely together. The mood was excellent, something about the little floating islands just felt really nice.

The central mechanic is really cool, definitely something you can build on. I think being able to absorb more than 1 hit would be really helpful in making this a game you could play for a longer period of time. I think that would encourage some experimentation, risk taking etc. Plus sometimes I think you start in positions that are impossible to get out of.

this is a super cool entry
the mechanic is very original, it plays very well and get better match after match
i guess that the time of the competition didnt allow you to add more levels, background, enemies and other things which I suggest you should continue with the game for a post mortem version
amazing work!

Cute game! You had a great idea and the art style and mechanics are really well done. I may just be a dummy, but I had to sift through the comments before I figured out that I had to run into the enemies to kill them, so maybe consider putting that more clearly in the description (I kept hitting space, thinking it would do another 'thing'.) Overall, well done!

Really unique game! It's simple but fun. The graphics were decent and I liked the music. It would have been cool to add in some special moves or something (maybe with a turn cooldown), but this is a game jam so I understand time is an issue (no pun intended). Nice project!

Wow, such a cool idea. The turn based system is so great.

And the music, oh, the music. The fade ins are such a cool style. And the music itself is so great, I caught myself sitting there not wanting to proceed because the music was so good. Could you release it on soundcloud or something. It's so good!!!

Awesome work! 5/5!

I loved the game play!!!! Awesome!
Some feedback: Wish the level transitions were a little different. They felt out of place. I'm sure if time wasn't an issue, you might had made them different or better :) Also, the gameplay and mechanic is terrific! Loved it but, I'm sure you can make the same game not based in a spherical world. I know that was the LD theme but, in your game, it feels unnecessary. I'm sure it would look a lot prettier not being in space. Again, that was just feedback... the game was excellent! Awesome Job!

What an interresting idea! And cool graphics!
The AI is a bit weird so the game lose some fun, but I know it takes time to make a good AI, so if you work more on this game, work on AI on different type of ennmies/Ai, and you will have a super game!
Good job!

Cool game, with a very interesting and unique mechanic. It took a few tries to get the hang of it but once I did the game flowed very well. Maybe having a couple less enemies on the first level might help with the learning curve. Also as others have said the AI could do with a little refining. Overall, I think this is a very well made, polished game, congrats!

Awesome game! I really love the idea about finding a way to attack the enemies but also have a limited time to find a hiding place to protect yourself.
Great pixelart, controls feel very good and the soundtrack is also very nice and fits great!
