Greetings insert Robot name here, your new AI is up and running, just in time too. I’m afraid you’re closed in this wing due to a horrific invasion by some random alien hippies talking about how we shouldn’t desolate and mine their whole planet. Now it is your job as a peacekeeping robot to kill them and we can pretend this never happened. Fail and all our research will be destroyed, we will all die and you will be a very sad robot. Also please try and fix any rogue bots hacked by the aliens, your preferred method should be to smash them. Use your abilities to your advantage as we try to clean up the bugs in your UI, namely the fact that just by being alive you lose energy constantly. Lose all your energy and die horribly. We were able to insert a kinetic energy punching attack which allows you to hit other robots in order to drain their energy, after you charge it up by landing shots with your coil gun, provided your AI doesn’t fail you and you miss as that will drain some stored kinetic energy. We will do our best to try and power up some chargers in certain rooms, so try and find them when we tell you. Move with your legs and don’t die, now go and save us!

Great piece of work! I love the atmosphere you guys crafted. I'm also a bit envious of the way you managed to make a functioning flashlight, haha!

Nice art, the mood really are there when you play through the level. One complaint I have is sometimes the movement can be a bit too heavy and jerky.

This game looks and sounds great. There is so much detail in the art. The rooms have tons of little details. Incredible. The ais are really cool and they seem to have some intelligence. The ui art is just as nice as the in game art. I shot guys for a while and it was fun. All of the shots look great although a more pronounced hit effect would be nice. I am not sure what the end game is but this game looks great and has a cool atmosphere and story.

Great atmosphere here. I agree with the reviewer who said some on hit effects would go a long way. Other than that, no complaints. I liked exploring, and your little touches were great (outdoor sounds, projectors flashing, the freakin pause menu - I SPENT SO LONG JUST PAUSING THE GAME!)

Solid entry for a weekend only - kudos to your artist too, things look excellent.

Well done with the atmosphere! The lighting is really good and makes it really creepy. The monsters only making sounds when they attack made it very startling whenever one managed to sneak up to you in the darkness too!
I found the music to be a little bit to cheerful, it didn't really fit super well in my opinion.

What a great entry !
We just had the same idea, but didn't pursue it cause we didn't think we couldn't assume the work amount for graphics, but i just have to say that you nailed it !
There sure some things to correct like the damages made by the main weapon compared to the melee attack, and the balancing of the costs of energy, but well, that's details.
Great mood, great graphics, a performance in 72h !
Good job guys !

Nice game! Loved the art! Sound effects could be better though (I'm a sound designer can't help paying attention to them :P).

This was a pretty enjoyable play, but I would have loved to have had some music in there! Also, a round tracker would have been a good addition, I think! Kind of hard to try to beat your last score if you don't know what it is!
I really liked the mechanic of alternating between firing and using melee, made the combat a bit more interesting and forced you to switch it up a bit. The mood was good, it alternates quite well between a bit somber and eerie, and quite exciting when you're down to your last 10% power and the lights are dimming and you're surrounded.
Overall it was quite fun! I'm sure it would have been even better with some more polish!
Well done guys!

Nice!

Pros:
Looks good - good job with the "real" flashlight lighting, nice UI / fictional world
Interesting, cute choice to make the firing sound a synth note :)

Cons:
Movement is a little sluggish - would expect it all to be a bit snappier (quicker acceleration / deceleration)

I like how you stylized that game :) +1 for various enemy, because it's more challanging beat enemies which have very different behaviour.

Beautifully drawn map. The character and projectile animations are a little lacking, but I guess there's not much that could have been done about that in the given timeframe. Nice game nevertheless.

I enjoy art and details. Though I still fell a lack of animations which may make it more alive. However, your team did a great job for such a short time!

P.S. I wonder what that poor guy was watching on the screen with projector...

This is really well polished, looks slick and the gameplay is fun. I would play a full game based on this.

I really liked the graphics, especially the flashlight mechanics, they felt very polished. The gameplay was pretty fun, although the momentum physics made it feel like your character is on ice skates. Overall, it's a good game.

I love the visual art on this game. It is fun but I'm too unskilled to go far in your game. +1 for the light, it is beautiful.

I love this type of games. It was very fun but there was a one thing I missed or did not found. The exit button. However while looking for it I found those hilarious tips in the pause menu and that gave me a few good giggles. Well done.

Nice art & audio, only complaint would be the movement is a bit too slide-y but aside from that was fun. :)

I couldn't get the hang of this one. It looks and sounds good, the lighting is brilliant, but I guess the gameplay is just too difficult for me. After several tries I couldn't get even halfway to winning the first wave. Ah well.

Oh hello there, fellow top-down shooter!

I love the graphics. The environment feels quite immersive, and all the lighting effects really breathe life into the game. The sounds are okay, the music is a little basic though.

I must say though the gameplay has a few issues. Foremostly, the character sliding around doesn't feel too good. A bit of slide a-la Doom wouldn't hurt, but this is entirely too much. It makes moving around a real pain, not to even mention dodging charging enemies and projectiles, which is also where the corridory level design doesn't help either.

Regarding your weapon, it doesn't feel all too rewarding to hit projectile shots. They travel too slowly, and when you miss it's mostly because by the time your energy orb reached the enemy they already decided to travel in a different direction. There are no prediction shots in this game, which makes the kinetic energy mechanic that rewards good aim a little misguided since the only reliable way to hit enemies is to shoot them as they run either straight at you or straight away frLS

I really like the lighting and changing visuals for projectiles a lot, but like others have mentioned the high-inertial movement feels really weird.

Nice game! It was a bit too hard to see the enemies, but it was fun to play anyway. Great graphics and mood.

Nice game, I agree with some of the previous comments.. movement felt a little bit off and I would have loved some more "feedback" when attacking.

Things I would love in a polished version:

* Smoother animations
* Tighter movement
* I would consider changing the sprint to a roll/evade manouver since there are enemies that are really fast and you dont really use the sprint so often
* Some audio cues for the enemies so that you can distinct when there is an enemies around the corner (kinda like the clickers in the Last of Us)

I really liked this entry, thanks for suggesting it! :)
