Neat game! Plays very smoothly, great concept. Could be a little more variety in level design (maybe addition of switches or other interactive elements) but as-is really great for 48hrs. Didn't rate on audio because I'm playing without headphones.

Is there really no better way to play this? I can't just install python and pygame on this machine. It should be compilable, shouldn't it?

Pretty fun concept! I feel like the levels could be a little more puzzle-like, often I felt like I was simply given two paths. Maybe a refill mechanic would help? You could have some extra strategy, with fake refills that won't help for example.
Still a good game, good job!
I recorded some gameplay of it, can I upload it? Edit: Will post a link, no worries :)

@fusionnist Thanks for the advice! The game has limited content mostly because I was only able to put ~10 hours of work in the game.

Of course you can upload it, don't forget to post the link here when you do :)

Fun idea, setting up python was a hassle, could use a bit more depth. Overall decent.

pip install pygame
# and off we goooo!

Likes:
- python deserves love
- intelligent puzzles where you don't know all the pieces from the start. :)
- smooth animations (though not much else)
- good color gradient from green to red. both colours look positively bright and shiny.

Try differently:
- have you thought about adding a restart button? :)
- the grey obstacles move smoothly, but very mechanically, exactly as the player.
- maybe make the player sprite move with a little "bounce"?

Overall:
- solid puzzle game
- solid puzzles!
- python

I agree, python is a lot of overhead to play this, but I already had it :) A bit lacking in content, but good job overall in the short time you used!

@thygrr Thanks for the detailed feedback! One little point: there actually is a restart "button". If you go to one of the white squares in the "win" level the game restarts :)

Nice game over all. I know you have gotten a lot of comments about it not having exe's I don't know if you run linux or if you run windows or both. (I dual boot  ) Back when I used python on windows and wanted to compile it I tried a ton of stuff eventually I got py2exe to work so you might try installing that and getting it compiled. It is a pain to setup just make sure that the C++ dill you need you install the 32 and 64 bit version **from microsoft**.

OK game, not really innovative and puzzles are a bit lame. It is quite obvious that you didn't have enough time.
Level restart button (or key that restarts level) would be nice. Try learning how to use some Python "compilers" (PyInstaller or cx_freeze), it's a pain in the ass to use but more people play your games (and you don't have to make executables immediately).
Nice to see someone else is working in Python (and using PyGame). Will you participate in next PyWeek?

The game is simple but fun. I would definetly have played more levels if there were more. The fact that the map changes when you move is whatb makes this game awesome to play and easy to move if you dont catch right away the "map behavior"

Good job!

you should really pack that with cx_freeze

Solid entry. Puzzles are well designed so there's a unique solution. It deserves more levels. Also Python 🐍

Nice game. I wish it had more levels, but i understand. There is never enough time for everything. Good job!
