Fun game :D
It was a little bit too easy for my taste and it took some time to find out that the blast doors open, when you get close ^^
But I really liked the Music :)
Impressive design as well.

Very nice aesthetics and mood, why did you opt out of it? Gameplay is a bit repetitive and simple, but it's so fun and pleasant that it doesn't get boring at all. Killing those robots feels too good to stop.

I agree with @mortus. It's quite satisfying to kill things and the aesthetics and music is absolutiely lovely.
I did occasionally got lost and the bobbing is a bit disorienting, and yeah it can get a bit reptetive with the lack of variety but for a game jam, really Very nicely done!

Doesn't seem to fit the theme. Still, very fun little game, I hope you expand on it.

Same here: doesn't fit the theme, but otherwise, really fun and great looking game. Love the controls as well, feels a bit like some old-school FPS.

I really like the style (I'm curious about how you make the map). It doesn't fit the theme, sure, but it's an amazing work for a game jam. Well done.

Map was created from quads with different texture + some simple models. Thank you guys!

Very fun game! Only problem is that it ran very slow on my pc. I think you should make a standalone build for it as it would run faster.

Really fun game and I liked the art style. I map would have been nice as I got lost a lot. A very polished and fun entry.

Love the concept, even though I also think it didn't fit the theme.

I found the music a little bit annoying when wandering around the level with the repetitiveness,
but that's to be expected in a jam and other than that, it was very solid.

It's a shame I can't vote on the graphics. Is it because you used some premade assets? Because if not, you should definitely enable that, I think you'd get a very good grade!

Pleasantly surprised to find a shooter among this jam's submissions. Also glad not to be the only one going for the reverse understanding of the theme with making your opponents "run out of power" instead. Art reminds me of Doom, haha. The sounds were pleasant and setting up the mood. Guess it's not *too* innovative, but I enjoyed playing it nevertheless. Great job!

Awesome stuff! Really had the 90s feel to it although I would prefer to have a reticle to aim my shots, I'm terrible at FPS

Cool little game I could imagine playing it in an arcade. Simple and easy to play, fun, good aesthetic. Keep it up!

@aarneus "It’s a shame I can’t vote on the graphics. Is it because you used some premade assets?" Nope, it's only because I misread "Opt out from vote" as "Opt in". Now you can do it. Thanks for notice!

Hey !

Great entry ! I really love the doom-like graphics and gameplay, and also the fact I didn't have to download anything :p It's just too bad it doesn't really fit the theme, but I guess some people weren't inspired by it. It's all good either way, the gameplay is quite enjoyable. I also like exploration being rewarded with extra health and ammo :)

Feel free to check our game out : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/berzerk-hunt We could use some criticism too :D

Yay, Doom style game! Missed that. Good game, I like visuals, audios, the nostalgic feeling. Dunno about getting into the theme, but overall it's a good one. :gun:

I have to admit that your visuals are quite nice. That pixelated aesthetic reminded me of the N64 era of FPS games. Eventhough its more like a mix between doom 64 and Turok 2 (speaking about the visuals^^).

Please play, rate and comment our game aswell (aaaand compare our visuals with yours^^):

Great style, good gameplay. Asides from robots I was unable to find the connection to the theme. The music was nice but I think it didn't really fit the style of the game.
I had some performance issues but it's getting common with Unity web games, probably not your fault.
Overall very nice entry, good work!

Felt like an (original) Doom lite. Nice job. Not to pile on but didn't fit the theme unless you consider health points energy :-).

This game was fantastic, and at its core it was just FUN. I loved that I could just open this game and immediately get thrown into it and it was simple enough to just figure out in seconds. Great throwback to the original FPS games! The overall aesthetic was great.

Minor things I think could've been improved:
* Small graphics bug, but the fireballs from the floating robots would be visible through walls. Almost seems like a shader layer issue
* The control panels in the first room seemed too tall and gave an odd sense of scale, like I was a lot shorter than I actually was
* Swappable weapons or even limited ammo could've made the game a little more challenging

Again though, really good stuff. Would love to see a post-jam version of this for sure

The art style is amazing! Super cool game! Very atmospheric as well! The only thing that kind of annoyed me was that the screen overlay effect when you got low on hp. It was a bit too intense and made it hard to see. Other than that it is a very awesome game! Well done!

Thank you form making this game.

Simple yet efficient and pretty well executed. Maybe a little bit too easy, but that's subjective.
To be picky i would say that head bobbing was too strong.

Very good game! A lot of polish and I loved the fast paced action. Maybe a little more indication for when the standard robots are shooting but other than that, everything was perfect.

Even though it doesn't fit the theme, it was very well done, super fun, very nice-looking and feeling, so you got a 5 stars rate in almost all of the categories, one of the best games from the LD39 jam I played !!!

Great game! I really like your enemy robot. I would have to agree with the head bobbing being too strong though. Music is also a bit too chipper for the dark environment of the game. Maybe something tenser?

Loads of fun! The music could be a bit more than the same few loops, but the art was fantastic!

Nice work man. Very few people are aware that shotgun is the best weapon against robots from 1991.
*please* add invert mouse Y support so I can survive for longer than three minutes.

Wow that was really cool! I really liked the artstyle and gameplay. Good ol' wolfenstein feels. It was actually way more fun than I had anticipated. Great job guys! Also if you feel like uploading the source files, I'd love to take a peek ;)
