Heart Sacrifice by Predrag
First game I made for Ludum Dare. Hope you like it and comment if you have the time.

I made a mistake when posting on itch. Accidentaly posted it as private instead of public game. I'm very sorry about that and hope you can play it now!
EDIT 2: I tried fixing the blue slime error and I think I did. Yesterday I rushed to post the game so I didn't test it at all that's why there were errors. I updated the download file and it is now called version 1.0.1. The error appeared very rarely for me during testing (about once in about every 10 test plays) and now it didn't appear at all. I will continue the testing and see if there are any more errors (I hope there aren't). Thanks for reporting the error messages, they helped me a lot.
Also, not many people have realized that there is a dash mechanic (which you have to unlock). You can get it if you have 7 full lives then click on the icon in the middle of the map. Once you do that you can press "C" on your keyboard to dash.
That is the reason the game is called Heart Sacrifice. You have to sacrifice your health to be able to get dash ability thus the gameplay feels faster and also it's way easier to dodge enemy fireballs. Originally, I was supposed to make a statue in the middle instead of that icon but I didn't have time to do so since I didn't work on the first day of the jam, only on the second and third.

But that's okay (: I still loved the game! Graphics look amazing, and game is fun. Adding audio could be great. Btw is there a link with the theme? Maybe it is revealed at the end and I didn't see it. Anyway great game, congrats :D

First of all, love the artwork ! It has this cool looking pixel art that everyone loves and it's very well done. The controls are fine but I would rather have the dash button linked to the right click of the mouse rather than the C key because it's a bit hard to get it right as you move.
It feels good to play and I hope you develop it further because I think it has potential: the idea that you have to "sacrifice" your current amount of health to get new power cood be developped even further with other bonused, better stats, etc...
Great work, I hope you go on with this project :)
And also the heart pickup's hitbox could have been a bit bigger :slight_smile: And a real ending would have been nice, even if it's just a text.
Btw it crashed for me when I wanted to enlarge the window, so I had to play with low screen, and sometimes there were issues as well.

**Bad things: **
-save option doesn't save the wave, but only the hp
-Doesn't say anything at the end of the game
-the sprites of the slimes seems taken from HeartBeast's game Wargrain. (at least credit him if you're not the creator)
-no audio
**Good things**
-the shadows are very nice and well done
-the concept is good and solid
-nice character art (this also seems like HeartBeast's art, maybe you're him idk lol)
-the theme has been respected
