About

kard is a 2D pixel-art platformer placed in the future. It's really glitchy becous we wasted a lot of time on a one bug that could have been solved in 3 minutes. Only 5 levels becouse of this.

A D - move

W/Space - jump

X - Speed Powerup [if bought]

C - Jump Powerup [if bought]

In game you have two stats:

Your Lifecoins [top left] and your Resistance [top left]. When your resistance ends you need to retry the level. When you run out of lifecoins you need to start over the whole game. sshot 2.PNG

Story

Somewhere in Russia, 3019...

In the Moscow State University something unbelievable has happened. The university's antennas recieved a reply from an other civilization to the Arecibo message sent in 1974. Aliens sent us a codec to communicate quickly [in just one month]. Unortunally, the codec was recieved uncorrectly and the University's reply instead of saying ,,What planet" said ,,War planet". The next day when people realised their mistake a flood happened. The codec was saved on intelligent robo-cards which aren't water proof. Three copies were made and you are the last robocard left now. When you escaped the university you realised that the air was so wet that it was damaging you.You need to get to the Emergency Facility as quick as you can, so they can send a corrected message.

The controls need some help. They aren't very responsive, and I couldn't even get through the training level. However, the plot is absolutely fantastic - best I've seen on Ludum Dare actually. Good work!

Love the story! however, as mentioned by another, the gameplay feels incoherent and I felt like I was fighting with the game a lot. Overall, great idea but definitely tweak the feel of the mechanics!

Movement is very hard especialy when you have speed and jump boost. Almost unplayable after the fact.

As mentioned in the comments i tried to tweak the movement a little. Powerups now have keybinds.

Oh, the controls are so hard to master! The fact the characters slides a little after finishing the movement killed me so many times! When the level is done, the animation of getting to the shop is painfully slow. Anyway, I love the concept, the story and the idea behind it, I actually liked it a lot! It just needs some tweaks :)

The movement feels weird... you have too much friction on the floor and when you are airborn you move like superman, try tweaking this a bit.

But it's a good game for a jam

this game really needs some sounds, also movement feels too sensitive when in the air (jumping/falling) - would tune it down with some factor..
