Reaper Resurrection by Veilastrum

The souls of the dead have escaped the afterlife-all except for one. The deity of the afterlife makes a deal with a the remaining soul that remains within its domain: become a reaper under him and gather back (at least enough of) the souls that escaped the afterlife, and he'll resurrect the soul, allowing the soul to return back to the life. You are the last soul in the underworld. The deity will grant you the power to take up this mission-at the cost of your very essence of soul-or the escaped souls if you have any on you. Manage your soul and the souls of your enemies in order to complete your task.
... Except that part of the game hasn't been finished yet, so you can't actually win this game. I guess you can just mess around with it still.

In any case, i was able to play through 5-6 rooms, and did so with each of your abilities. It's a fun little game that definitely has promise!
Things I liked:
* The weapon variety was fun! I had the most success with the first ability (the lance?) and the hardest run was definitely with the charge up Phantom Impact ability.
* Your black-on-white with particle emitters art style was really good. I think the game was visually pretty.
* Although you did not select to be rated on music (didn't make it I assume?), I liked the song you chose and it felt like a good fit.
Things I would change:
* Being able to customize your loadout up front for a run is a super cool idea, but I didn't feel like any of the abilities synergized well and I just stuck with one each run.
* That speed upgrade you have got me killed repeatedly =P
* Some of the rooms felt a bit unfair
* I wanted to choose teleport!
The lance was probably the most powerful of all the weapon choices available if only because I did not have time to balance the weapons properly at the end. Phantom Impact and Soul Cannon were likely the most underpowered ones because of their charge mechanics along with how weapon cooldown works in the game currently.
In regards to the music, I actually did make the music but it was from a long time ago, so I didn't count it for a rating for this game because it was originally for something else. I didn't have time to compose new one for this game specifically so I just grabbed one of my old works and stuff it in. Glad to know that it fits though!
For the speed upgrade, I guess I was too use to quick dodges myself, haha. Might have to slow that down sometime. As for teleport, I didn't have enough time to finish designing it unfortunately.
The rooms fall into the lack of time to balance again, haha (also, because I ran out of time to make more enemies so that there would be more weaker enemies-as a result, the enemies that weren't harmless were either elite or mid-tier class enemies).
