Harmonious Development by dcrdro

[raw]
made by dcrdro for LD 43 (COMPO)

In our world we have to constantly sacrifice something, one for the other. Sometimes we can sacrifice health for our own pleasure, and sometimes - pleasure for the necessary skills.

And now - you are a programmer who lives in the same world as us, with the same tasks and chores as we all do. You will have to sacrifice some states for improving others. Only you decide what to do - relax and eat cookies, or work and read a book. So, can you harmoniously develop yourself and achieve as high level of states as possible?

How to play

At the top left - panel of your states (health, pleasure, skills). Walking around the apartment, you can perform various actions with your mouse. These actions will change your states in some way, and, as a rule, an increase of one state causes a decrease of another. Do not sacrifice excessively one state for another. Develop harmoniously! Reach high levels of all states to win!

Control

  • Mouse click on action over thing to perform it

For the first time I can say that I have a balanced life, thanks!

There is one thing that bugs me. Reading books decreases pleasure. Unless it's a phone book, it should be increased.

Cool game!

This is a interesting little game, with fun story. The music and graphics is okay, but could have been better. Overall is this good LD game.

Fun little game, I quite enjoyed it :). The movement feels a bit off though since it seems to be tile-based. But I enjoyed it nonetheless and since playing have developed a well-balanced and modest life-style.

Good game, I liked when I would eat a broccoli and run on the bike machine. I wish there was more happening rather than just running around, I would have liked to see the player have to perform laborious household chores that have to be done and detract from the end goal. Other than that, it was a good, simple experience that fitted the theme nicely

Building off of @ryzy27's comment, I would add a *bookshelf* which contains 2-3 kinds of books which offer different combinations of stat buffs and debuffs.
