Fantastic mix of rhythm, humor, and simplistic fun!
Easy controls that let me sit back and enjoy the game!
GG!
@Crown Games I am glad that you like it ;)
@Evannex Thanks =D
You got me interested in the life of the orc on the other line of my call, and I wanted to ensure that someone, please go to his birthday party. However a few times I accidentally hung up on him.
It reminded me a bit of what I think being bored as a call center technician would be like. You turn a tedious task into a game and try to add some fun to the monotony.
The theme was to combine two incompatible genres, and I think you may have found a winner. I'm not sure text-based adventure and rhythm belong together, but you sure did make lemonade out of the genre's you were dealt.

I rate your game, if I can give a game in my game, Witch's Escape.

Connecting the choice to the rhythm is pretty innovative and works really well! I would love to see some constraint forcing you to answer faster, like at a constant rate!
A really fun compo, congrats!
Good work !
Also thanks, i didn't know about Steve Reich pieces and i think is awesome 😉
There were a lot of ditties, with different rhythms, which was nice for variety. Quite often though, the music didn't fit the mood of the text in game. It would be cool if the story beats and the songs were tied to emotions so that each story beat could get its own music, or subset of music. Its difficult to give much credit to the graphics since it's a text game. The pulsing effect was nice, but I didn't notice the ratings even existed until I saw the comments for the game. I found it difficult to tell which color was highlight at first, but the crossover highlighting for the title helped with that.
The ratings don't seem to update until the end of a conversation, if that's as intended, it makes them a bit limited in their usefulness as feedback. It's unclear if they do anything else. It's not exactly a bug, but there was an orc who thought they'd ask me for advice about some Orc they're in love with after we set up a date, which is not cool =P.
