Wasted Warlocks by conk

:european_castle: - Lore
In the Kingdom of Ailshire, in a tavern unlike one you'd have ever seen, sits a warlock of renowned skill. He plays a game like no other, they call it 'In One's Cups', where two Inebriati Warlocks must battle, deck to deck... While incredibly intoxicated. Watch the Warlock as he takes on the Greenman of the Thornwood, the Aurumarian Alchemist, the Reaper of the Bloodlands and the Man of the Cosmic Plains.

I tried making a tower defence card game, but I forgot to add the tower defence part. Or any win/lose conditions. I guess I'll say it... I over-scoped... I mean, I was aiming to enter the compo, and here I am, a day later with still no 'game'. Either way, was a blast to make and looking forward to finishing it off :grinning:
đšī¸ - Controls
- Mouse Left Click - Pick up/Put down/Press
- Mouse Right Click - Debug features I likely forgot to disable
- End - Restart
- Escape - Quit
- F11 - Fullscreen
đī¸ - Rules
Draw Phase - To begin your turn, draw a card. - 7 Cards on your first turn, 1 on other turns. No more than 7 cards can be held in your hand.
Move Phase - During this phase, you can move unit cards from your hand onto the field at the cost of 'KA' (cost in blue). - You can also move drink cards from your hand into a drink slot. - Once a unit card has been on the field for more than 1 turn, it can be moved around as many times as indicated in green. - Up to 3 unit cards can occupy the same tile. Their stats are added together except green.
Drink Phase - This phase is automatic - each drink on the field will lose a life increasing the players 'KA' (amount in blue).
Fight Phase - Clicking on a tile with your cards on will activate it for combat. - Clicking on an enemy tile while one of your tiles is activated for combat will cause your cards to attack. - Right click a tile to place an enemy, this is a debug feature and may break the game. - Damage is done based on yellow stats. - Green stat (range/distance) is always equal to the lowest card on the tile.
End Phase - Take a break before the enemies turn.
Enemy Phase - Not implemented.
Edited: Added basic rules.

I would still like to know more about the rules you wanted to implement, I have no clues on what you wanted drinking to do
The problems that I see about what you finished :
moving square after square is not very enjoyable nor intuitive. It would be better to do the whole move with two clicks or a drag and drop.
It is not easy to understand how to go to the next phase and why the click on the phase don't do anything (like in the draw phase or when the drinking is happening).

Is there any place (like twitter or itch.io) where i can follow your work in order to see when you upload a better version of this? :)
@Markram Thanks for the feedback! I do intend on finishing it and I'll likely put it on my itch page when it's done. https://cojowe.itch.io/
@maymakegame Ah, no problem at all, cheers for giving it a look.
@Yetman Cheers man! You certainly have a point about the lack of tutorial, something I'm taking from this jam is that if you can't explain the game coherently on day one, it's probably too complicated to make :stuck_out_tongue:
I really dig the direction it's going.
Can't say much about the interactivity. Multiple separate phases for each turn doesn't seem like a necessary addition. Usually there aren't any phases per turn, just do what you want and then let the enemies do the same. Maybe you were going for more of a card game vibe, than dungeon crawl tactics.
Do work on it if you have the time. This could be quite something.
