I love this! Great sound and a simple, beautiful aesthetic! Enjoying the game play a lot. Interesting controls, but I keep hitting spacebar to jump out of habit hah.

Nice game

I like the idea, kinda reminds me of this old flash game "Shift". Appreciate the skip level button, but I think that there should be "undo" or "rewind" button with/instead of "restart".

Very nice concept.
It could be nice to have a fullscreen support (if godot don't still make it blur on fullscreen) and i would prefer a wad controls but it's still very fun.

@sita This "undo"/"rewind" feature that was on my list. The problem is the development time was too high for this task. Maybe enough for a 72h run! Thank you  If I do a post-JAM version, I will implement this!

@cokil I have to check regarding Godot, last time it was not great, but it has evolved! WAD controls were avoided because it was not friendly for AZERTY users or other kind of keyboards. The keys chosen are keys that are mapped at the same place on the most common keyboard! Thank you for the feedback!

Don't want to be mean, but the bgm drags me out of the game ... really (crying). And everything else is PERFECT!

Thanks for the feedback!

@guardhei My goal was to achieve a sort of Zen atmosphere, but I guess as everything, some may like, some may dislike! I will try to go for a more joyful BGM next time!

Loved the artstyle and gameplay. As soon as the strange high pitch noise came on it i had to turn it off it was really loud. The controls seemed like they would have been better as typical WASD and Arrow keys. The game feels awkward to play with the current controls. Overall great work and nice to see godot being used.

@kamikaziuk As LDJAM is an international competition, all users does not have a QWERTY keyboard. As such, as advised, we tend to use keys that overlap between all configurations. The game was playable with LEFT UP RIGHT and LEFT BOTTOM RIGHT. Just you to choose the option that suits you the best.
Thank you for you feedback! Definitely try again next time on the musics so that it is more appreciated :v:

The mind blowing mechanic is extremely well done. Completing each one feels so satisfying.
Though, I do question the choice of using c,v,b instead of wasd

Like the mechanics while playing the game. Jump key on the left side was quite confusing, but I think this game is a good way to express the theme.

OK this game is very clever, I really like it :) great work! The background chanting sounds are pretty random but otherwise I cant fault it. Enjoyed solving the co-op puzzles. Nice job!

Really awesome. sound effects, controls, and game mechanics were on point. Maybe a different kind of music though. I could definelty see this game being at the top of the app store if controls were different (for phones)

I LOVE the gravity mechanic, the music, the visuals.

A few UI confusions, but very fun!

Great game. It took me a while to think in "reverse" but once it sank in, I was able to make good progress. The underlying concept is brilliant and you nailed the theme as well. I also love the music.

P.S. I wasn't even aware that some users don't have QWERTY keyboards. It was thoughtful of you to take that into account. I am curious now as to which keyboards don't have this layout.

You did a great job with this! I could barely get my head around solving some of these puzzles, so God knows how you designed them. Loved the level transition animations and the movements sounds changed pitch as you changed height. You also introduced the mechanics in really nice ways. Well done!

@gamebuilder Glad you had some fun :v: A famous one is the French keyboard laytout: AZERTY which changes WASD to ZQSD!

14. Aug 2018 · 00:00 UTC
Goutye thanks for your reply. I looked at the layout for AZERTY in Wikipedia and I can see how it would be difficult—if not impossible—to use WASD. Now your idea of using XCV or JKL makes a lot of sense.

I saw this game at some point on my live #LDJAM search on Twitter during the jam and knew I just had to try it. I love the negative space thing, obviously space filling fits the theme. Subtly zen ambiance with some eerie and kinda oppressive tension that fits the theme very well too!

Much appreciated to take into account non-QWERTY keyboards!

The toughest part is that after doing the Jam my brain is so tired I have a hard time solving those puzzles xD

Amazing, this game it is kinda original and actually very fun to play. Strong main concept and right music choice, very good recipe. The only problem I see right now it is the lack of some “unique” art style. After you will find one, you can easily continue the developing to a complex game with much more content. Good work dude.

The theme was used very well, and the art, music and sound design were all super well produced. I'd be surprised if another game in the compo impressed me more than this one. I'll also add that the design of the itch.io page fitted the game well - good use of webfonts.

Fantastic concept, I think it hits the theme fairly well. My favorite types of games are the ones with a simple but creative mechanic and a bunch of cool levels to go with it. The controls - especially the jump mechanic - seemed a little off, but other than that I LOVED IT.

I really enjoyed the puzzle mechanic of this game and the atmosphere was very zen. The graphics and movement are very clean and polished making the game feel good to play. The rate of progression has been very well-considered, especially with the pseudo-tutorial sections to isolate new mechanics. I think that the game would benefit from a level select function and a key other than the space bar (usually jump!) to restart a level.

This is the coolest puzzle game I've seen so far. The first time you start using black and white to move each other around I was really impressed. I also liked the number of mechanics you fit in (gravity reverse, tiles unaffected by either color, etc.)

Also first godot game I've seen so far!

Very nice puzzle mechanic. I thought the earlier levels were a bit too simple, but I also play quite a few puzzle games so take that with a grain of salt. My only suggestion would be to change the "goals" to something that is easier to match with the white/black moving blocks. Maybe making one block a different shape and matching that shape with the spinning goal pieces.

Definitley had a very strong Eureka moment once I realized that the blocks overlapped each other; very compact game, does exactly what it intends to do very well; only comment I can make for a change is to have the black cube's controls be xdv instead of xcv; or even awd as myself and most games default that finger position for "jumping"

this is one of the best, if not the best game i played at this game jam. it's just the most finished and polished game i've seen. this one of the two games i played, that had no issues. the difference is, that this game has a way better system and is just more fun. you shouldn't make a post jam version, since this one is already perfect. if you want to continue working on this, then make some new elements, more levels, and make this a full game!

When I first played this game I thought "oh, yet another one of these platformers where I can't traverse backwards this LD". I'm glad you threw in that 2nd block when you did and I saw the true brilliance of this game. You did an amazing job wracking my brain in several dimensions, and the simultaneous play alone created a bunch of nice gameplay opportunities. Definitely one of the more well designed games this LD, you achieved so much polish and so many levels in such a short time.

I had a similar idea but not as well established as this! I was amazed when I realized I had to shape the levels in order to reach the goal, i.e. The level design is superb! I also liked the sounds and how the pitch increased/decreased as I traveled up and down. Well done! :D

Congrats on the win! I had yours downloaded already but must have missed it. Wish I'd seen it earlier, it's easily the best use of the theme to come up with a new puzzle mechanic.
