made by MKnooihuisen for LD 43 (JAM)

In the beginning was You... and The Other Guy. Everything was goin' fine. You kept to Your nations. The Other Guy kept to his. Then this tiny island You owned began sacrificing to both of you - the little blasphemers! You're not gonna let them get away with this, are You? It's time to show them who's God, and who's just The Other Guy...

Hotkeys 'B', 'V', 'C' Bless, Leave, and Curse respectively. You win when 75% of the population knows you as the one true God of the Isle.

I don't really get it. Too much text for me.

Reminds me of Populous, I wasn't really sure how Blessing or Cursing would help or hurt me, maybe some more feedback about how my actions changed the villages would help.

@velocity7 It is quite a lot of text with the tutorial. And that's okay. Not all games are for everyone, right?

@disperse The Feedback comes from the notification panel on the right and the population counts on the bottom-left. Blessing increases the odds of a non-believer seeing the light, as well as encouraging the same types of sacrifices you were given that visit and increasing population in the village. Cursing discourages atheism, reduces village population and indicates you were not pleased with their sacrifice.

I like the idea a lot but cant really see any concequences or rewards for my actions, i ended up spamming bless and curse randomly then it just said "gameover, you win". great game though, please keep working on it so we can see it shine!

I thought this was really fun. The tutorials were pretty in my face, but they did a great job of explaining the game (since this one's a bit more abstract than most). Once I figured out how to play, The Other Guy felt basically absent. I had assumed that he would steal sacrifices from the towns if I waited too long, but all he did was curse Briantown over and over again. When I won the game, I honestly had no idea why. Very fun, though.

I like the idea and the little world. This game is different.

Pretty enjoyable game, kinda confusing, but not a bad idea. Some of the events included (catnip, sandal factory 2x) were pretty funny. It kinda reminded me of Master of Magic / Populous.

Text games are fine with me.
It was fun but at the same time i wish there were a bit more visuals in it.
This felt like something is missing.
I guess it needs polish and updates to make it work better.

I managed to win on my second go. Very cool, I like the effort put into the events and the amount of flavourful text.

By the way, the 'continue' button at the end doesn't seem to do anything!

Cool game, there is a lot of information being delivered, and it can be overwhelming, but I feel it is actually okay in this sort of, resource management game.

This was a lot of fun, reminded me at first of the religion mechanics from Civ V (a game I love) but turned out to be more clicker-esque. Which to me is great, I also love a well made clicker with a good theme. The one improvement could have been exponential growth, so that once you reach a certain milestone, there are ways to gain sacrifices even faster (maybe the population grows) but then having power of that population causes more trouble. Just food for thought. Great Job!

a little bit much text for me personally and I think you really need some sound... but with a little bit tweaking it might have potential... ;-)

I had no idea what was going on, and suddenly lost. This game needs a lot more detail on what's going on, or maybe better explanations of what is going on. I didn't know if it was turn based, or real time, or what? And it wasn't clear what the "other guy" was doing, what the lose condition was, or any of that.

I like where you were going here. The humor worked and the overall feeling was interesting. Although your interface was clean and usable, I am afraid this was a little to Zork for me. I think my days of text adventuring are over.
