Ok, I'm in love with this game. Usually I'm not into puzzle platformers, and I'd prefer tighter controls, but atmosphere just made it for me.

Very fun and cute game!! The level progression being explained by the book-obsession is really cool. And the progression provides very challenging levels!

Really liked how the levels changed while I was still "in" the same room.

This is the best LD40 game I've played so far! It's absolutely hilarious, relatable, fun, and very entertaining! It's a little rough around the edges and it has a disappointing "ending" (I think you just ran out of time), so I hope you continue to develop it because I'd absolutely like to play more of it. The book mechanics and how the level keeps changing as you get more books is just absolutely brilliant.

If you were to update it, I'd definitely add more frames to your walking animation, and add more visual feedback, especially for when you activate a checkpoint, when you die and go back to a checkpoint, and when you go through a door (cutting directly to the next scene is sometimes a bit confusing). There's a few non-optimal things with the mechanics, as well: she stays in the climbing animation even when she's at the top, there is no jump forgiveness (which means letting the player jump off the ledge a little late, almost from midair), and other things that make the normal jumping not feel to great, maybe a bit of floatiness too?

IDK, but the overall idea of this game is absolutely brilliant and I hope you continue to develop it.

Great entry! I enjoyed bouncing back and forth from door to chair. The level progression was well thought out, and there were enough elements to keep it interesting. Using open books as traps and bookmarks as checkpoints were clever additions.

A few nitpicks: I thought the animation of the character was a bit out of sync with the controls (sprite stays in bouncing pose for too long), and some of the falling book felt unfair (falling from offscreen).

Overall I enjoyed playing!

Great! I thought I had too many books in real life, now I have too many in a video game! I really liked the way the room changes to fit in all your new books. The bookmark/checkpoint system was a brilliant metaphor! Having books fall from above off screen was a little frustrating. You could never see them ahead of time, plus they were so fast I couldn't reaction dodge. Luckily they don't respawn! The book internal monologue was surprisingly engaging. Thank you for this making this!

As a recovering book-aholic, this is a great game. I love the humor of how a book collector has too many books. I like that the player just has to go back and forth, but each time the level changes.

Oh my gosh, it reminds me of my house. I love the concept and the game! The double jump can be impproved because it felt a little laggy, but that's the only ting i would change.

The music is very soothing and the graphics are very nice. You could definitely turn up the pace of the game though. The first couple of levels (at least 8 of them) could all be passed by simple holding space and one of the arrowkeys. Great game!

oh congratulation! Nice art! Can I follow it also on indiexpo? Do you have also a page there? This looks great! I looked for the games that used the #LDJAM but I don't find yours. So good luck!! I will hope to make a video about it!
