Planetclimb by DMajor

Managed to get it into a state where it can be called a game, unfortunately had no time to brush up all the graphics that were mostly supposed to be placeholders but oh well. Controls are also shown ingame but its A and D to move, spacebar to jump and E to interact, your goal is to make it to the moon.screen.png

The idea is okay, but it is a bit difficult to see what actually is happening, and why am doing the different things. But at least I finally reacted the moon.

The graphics reminds me of one of my first games :D it's actually kind of fun, a bit more polishing and it'd be pretty cool!

Linux/Mac Builds? or WebGL? Let the rest of us try it?

I didn't have the webGL builder set up while the jam was on, it feels against the spirit of things to add new builds after the time limit is up but I guess that's just me, I added a webGL version to the itch.io page since I don't have a mac or linux to test on.

I thought that more people would end up going for a circular platformer so I chose not to. This is a good implementation of one, however. Nice job.

I thought this was great! As soon as I realized what was going on, I wouldn't stop till I made it up to that moon.

Looks like you had the makings of an interesting concept here. Sorry to hear that you didn't have enough time! For a few comments, keeping in mind your constraints, the camera seems a little too zoomed in, and the movement is a little floaty (I had the same problem in my game, hard to get it working just right) Hope you continue to work on this, or that I see you in future game jams

If you like, take a look at the game me and my team worked on, you can find it linked in my profile

Unfortunately, it was hard to figure out how the various interactions work. But good groundwork for something more elaborate.

Didn't entirely understand what to do with items or what "E" would do, but I did eventually reach the moon via ladder.

The graphics are better than you're giving them credit for.

I like the walk around the planet mechanic

I love platformer games but I agree that the movement was too floaty. In the future try to make it completely apparent to the user what is happening. It took me a while to understand that I got lava to melt the ice that the ladder was frozen in.

The idea is nice, but when I was playing the game I wasn't sure what I was doing. The hints helped me to finish it, but I can't say that all steps of the way were clear to me. Still it's a nice platform for a good puzzle game)
