The Delivery by OlavDeng2

[raw]
made by OlavDeng2 for LD 43 (JAM)

The game is heavily inspired by FTL, you sacrifice parts of your ships as you progress through the story to reach the end jump point. If i had more time id make some animations/alternate sprites for damaged parts as well as for hits with the laser. I would also have liked to give more options for what parts to sacrifice, areas to jump to as well as expand the combat system, but oh well, doesnt matter too much now.

Thank you all for checking out my first entry to Ludum Dare, I know the code base is a disaster and if I were to do this again id do it completely differently, but hindsight 20/20 and sometimes in the moment you just do something despite it being a stupid way to do it.

Suggestions and feedback is welcome!

Great job! I thought this was a really solid entry. I really liked the aspect of having to cope with the increasingly difficult circumstances of having an engine or a weapon missing.

I'm not sure exactly what I need to do, and how to win the game? I just click in places and wait for my ship to fire, and when I reach the 5th stage, I always die because I don't have enough health.

I like the idea, but it seems to be lacking feedback on what to do and telegraphing what is possible to do. It seemed like there were more weapon slots but only had 4 canons(?). It was a great start to something, though.

Definitely liked the atmosphere, though.

Game is very easy, all I did was click on a module an I won every fight and there is only one enemy type making it quite repetitive. With more time this could become quite good. It had a good atmosphere

@xlambein yeah, that is indeed a weakness of the current state of the game. Really should have had more of a focus on that

@isaque-picao-sanches Thanks for the comment, that does indeed seem like somewhat of a general theme.

Good job. With more time this could be really fun. Atmosphere is great, like others have said a bit repetitive but potential for sure. Great work getting it done.

Besides the main story this is not much about sacrifice. I would have loved to make some decisions about which part of my ship I want to sacrifice in order to proceed.

@maximiliangeorg yeah, I definetely agree and if I spent more time on this, that is definitely the direction I would go.
