Flash Dash Dungeon by Raymoclaus
Flash Dash Dungeon is a top down, 2D dungeon crawler with randomly generated levels. You will race against the clock to reach the ladder of each level. You can spend those precious seconds at shops to make later levels easier. The goal is to climb down as many floors as possible.
Controls - WASD to Move - Left Mouse Button to Attack
Edit: Thanks for the comments to everyone so far. I'm glad you're enjoying it. I thought I'd clear up a few things: - Some of you thought it was too easy to reach the ladder sometimes and that it might be an issue with algorithm. This is actually intentional. By taking the ladder as soon as you find it, you miss the opportunity to spend your remaining time at shops to make later levels easier. - Yes, one of the shop's options are overpowered. Some of you figured that out and others didn't, but I left it in for this compo because it looks like both groups of players had fun either way. If you'd like a more challenging and balanced run. Avoid using the grey crystal powerup (the one that halves your damage and gives you extra seconds). - Yes, the combat is slow and a little clunky. Tip: Attack a little early and don't spam; the attack's hitbox only appears on certain frames of the animation. It's not a core mechanic so if you're not enjoying it, you can absolutely skip it by running past enemies.
In the interest of fairness, I will not update or add any features during the voting period, and that includes balancing. However, if there are any game breaking bugs that prevent you from continuing, then I will fix those. If you happen to find such a bug, I'd be happy for you to include it in a comment, detailing what happened and how you produced the issue.

cute dungeon owls are a fantastic way to win people over ^-^
I noticed there's a bit of an exploit in the shop. The item "halves damage, gain 12 seconds" is very strong. You can buy it arbitrarily many times, and then spend the seconds on other things. This way you can effectively get infinite speed, infinite time, and infinite max time. Your damage output goes to zero, but that doesn't matter when you're super speedy and have all the time in the world :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Regardless, I had fun playing this game. It was well put together, with a reasonable increase in difficulty each level, and fun game loop. Good entry
I think you can actually make it much more fun only changing a few tiny things, try this idea: Spawn way more enemies but make them only take 1 hit to kill. For every enemy player kills they get a few seconds added to their time. Also, don't stop the players movement when they attack, and speed up the level transition, if your game is about being quick, it should echo that everywhere.
Impressed it's a compo : o
I've updated the description addressing most of the recurring feedback. In the interest of fairness for the game jam, I will not be updating the game during the voting period unless there are major bugs that break the game.
For those of you that are looking for a more challenging and/or balanced way to play the game. Avoid using the grey crystal powerup in the shops that gives you extra current seconds. Not much time was given to balancing the game so this was an oversight.
Congratulations for the game!
I also have a game on LD44. Try it, rate it and comment. Please.
